loved so much needed replacement January 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My dog loved her first one so much I had to buy a replacement because it got a bit "gamey" from her playing with it so much. In addition, it was used as a favorite tug toy between her, a Tibetan Terrier, and her best friend, a golden retriever.
It is a very sturdy toy, but if you have a chewer, you may find the feet chewed off! However, the tail stayed solidly in place.
Disappointed in durability September 18, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We purchased a toy opossum for our dog Molly shortly before we acquired her in September 2006. She loved it, and we loved it because it was the only stuffed toy she had that she did not pull the stuffing out of in about an hour. Finally, after a year, she managed to pull the tail off and pull out the stuffing.
I was thrilled to find another one on Amazon and promptly ordered it. Alas, although it appears to be the same toy, either Molly's ability has increased [definitely possible] or the toy was not manufactured with as much care as the previous one. In less than a week, Molly has managed to start the "disemboweling" of her new toy.

Excellent product. This is not an ordinary stuffed animal. Holds up really well in comparison. My dog loves these dolls.
AKC Possum November 29, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
One of my Tibetan Terriers, Cassie, had one of these Opossums and it rapidly became her favorite toy. She carried it around day and night for many months and tenderly tucked it in to a safe nesting place each night. She loved it so much that she took it outside where it got wet and began to get rather disreputable and was christened "the Rat." The Rat then lived outside in the back yard and Cass would seek it out as soon as she got to the back yard, only relinquishing it at the back door... at our insistance, because it was getting pretty nasty.
Knowing that even stuffed Possums can't live forever, I tried to find another toy like this for several months, to no avail, and even posted to my Tibetan Terrier discussion list, initiating an "all points bulletin" for AKC Opossum toys around the U.S. Finally, somebody found one and sent it to Cassie, who was mourning the loss of her "Rat" which finally had spilled its stuffing the week prior. She loves Rat2 every bit as much and now that they're showing up in stores again, we're stashing a few for when she "kills" the current one.
THis is an excellent toy that will stand up to daily "loving" and doesn't have any parts that can be easily chewed off. Highly recommended by the TTs and humans in this household.
We're all very glad to see this toy available again.
