zipper problems September 17, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Zippers were flimsy and got stuck on numerous occasions. Our dog now uses it at home to curl up in a cozy corner. It's always left open. We have a hard shell carrier for the car and our one year old lab can't chew it.
Great for a portable crate August 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the other reviews, I was concerned that many people might have been using this as a more day-to-day crate and were disappointed. We really wanted this crate in order for us to travel with the dog and the enormous plastic crate we normally use is just not efficient. I love that it folds down flat and the dog had no problem with it being slightly smaller than what he's used to. (Especially since we don't anticipate him being in it much.) We plan to also use it to bring to relatives houses' so that we have a quick option if the dog needs quiet time. I certainly would not recommend it for day-to-day crating, I don't think it is sturdy enough -- but we have a highly active dog so that makes a difference.
Pretty good, for short periods August 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We were looking for a soft-sided crate that we could use to confine our 6-month old puppy in the car because he gets carsick (to confine the mess too). We needed a soft-sided one because he is already 45 pounds, so a vari-kennel or wire crate of the right size would be too unwieldy for me to manage. I saw a few that I liked a bit better (they seemed a bit better made and popped up more sturdily, see below) but this was the ONLY soft-sided crate I found that has a removeable tray in the bottom. NONE of the others had them, and I looked high and low. It also has a lot of ventilation which is great. That is normally a bit of a drawback using a vari-kennel in the car.br /br /So it meets our needs, but this is NOT a crate that I would use long-term or unsupervised. Any dog the size of mine (or with his chewing habits) would rip right through it!br /br /If you are looking for a sturdier soft-sided crate, I would look at Mr. Herzher's (sp?) "CUV". It's made of ballistic nylon and has tie downs so the crate won't move in your car. My favorite of them all was the NOZTONOZ crates--they are very well made and durable, as long as your pet doesn't puke!!
Easy to transport August 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the ease of putting this up and down, clips closed on the side so no bag to try and get it into. Love the side door, and top door too.
Not worth it July 27, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this crate for a road trip this summer. My dog is a Cav Spaniel (18 pounds) so this crate could be a bit large for her, but I wanted her to have extra room since she was in a new environment. The first time we left her in the hotel room she broke the side zipper; the second time she broke the front zipper. Finally, she tore through the mesh and now it is unusable. The crate is great for traveling, but if you have a bigger dog than my Cav, I would suggest buying something else.
