Very effective, takes awhile to dry June 23, 2008 This is working very well on my mare's scratches (fungal infection of the lower legs). Before I bought her in April, she spent all winter in a soggy pasture, up to her hocks in mud. The scabbing up of scratches can be ver disturbing and can happen very quickly on horses (overnight, a patch of skin can ulcerate), but Malaseb beats it into submission very quickly. The scratches will, however, take awhile to totally vanquish, partly because I can't run out to the barn (not where I live) three times a day as recommended (I have a thing called a job). But even the 5-7 treatments a week I give her are having an effect.br /br /Two cons: the first is that I used this in combination with furacin (a sulfa drug in a lanolin-rich cream) or Swat (a skin lubricant with fly repellant to keep flies away from weepy sores) to lubricate the scabbing. Not only did the dirt attracted to the creams dirty up the wounds, but I got the feeling that the chemicals reacted with one another. So I'm using malaseb only for now. Steady as she goes. Secondly, the malaseb takes awhile to dry. After keeping my horse in crossties for 20 minutes waiting for the stuff to dry (it still hadn't), I finally cut her loose and watched her. She wasn't licking her feet and from that point on, I've just engaged in "spray 'n pray." So far, so good.
Works ! April 1, 2008 I use the malazeb products for my Westie. I have been using the spray on especially one spot that has taken the longest to heal, but has improved for her yeast problems. I use the zymox and the malaseb products for her. I need to order more spray. Love amazon to order from, have always had great service and results with all their products, I do read a lot first on symptoms, save tons over buying it at the vets. Highly recommend malaseb products for yeast problems, worked for my westie.
Great March 25, 2008 This spray is great for fur-covered spots that just aren't quite treatable with the wipes.
excellent product and concept March 1, 2008 we were using the pledgelets which are a good product in and of themselves but this in my opinion is more cost effective. you can buy the little cotton pads and spray them and then swab plus you can spray directly on pads and spots that need treatment. convenient and effective
good stuff December 28, 2007 great for red, raw paws. use it twice a day and within a week or so they will dry up. good for red scabby chins too.
