We bought this collar for our Jack Russell. We have five dogs and don't have a barking problem except for him. It's not that he barks incessantly, but he loves to jump at our male Siberian Husky and bark his head off, often at night in our living room when we've all settled down to watch TV and trying to relax. The other annoying time was whenever one of us loads the dishwasher...for some reason that sets him off. We put the collar on him and he barked at the dishwasher once, then ran under the kitchen table. This happened several more times, and that was it. Now when he sees our Husky he just stares at him. The quiet is almost eerie! It is so great to find a product that works as advertised.

Even after several adjustments and trimming the collar down significantly, this anti-bark dog collar was also an "anti-working" dog collar for our small shi-tzu/poodle mix. After finally getting the fit we wanted, we (owners, not the dog) needed to blow directly into the mechanism to release the bark repellent. I would not recommend this product, especially for small dogs (20lbs).

I have four Jack Russells who protect my home as their primary function. Unfortunately this is the 9th bark collar I have had to purchase as they continue to chew them off each other and then chew up the housing. The company will replace the collar but never the housing. They even tore into the box before it was unwrapped, and chewed up pieces of it. They don't like it much so I have to bribe them with a treat to put it on before I go to work.br /I refuse to shock them so I guess this is my only alernative.
Don't buy from Amazon August 6, 2007
The product is great. I borrowed a collar from a friend and it worked well. I ordered my own from Amazon and the one I bought is defective, BUT Amazon has a no return policy on this item. Buy it directly from Premier; their website says they will honor their warranty.

The collar helps to stop aimless barking, but when the dog is really excited, she doesn't seem to notice the spray and continues to bark.
