Excellent Grooming Tool January 4, 2009 It does a fantastic job getting the loose fur off of our cats. We had a cheaper brush that looks very similar; the FURminator seems to grab the loose undercoat (exactly as advertised!). It's a little pricey, but well worth it!
works great- my cat hates it December 29, 2008 I bought this product even though some people said their cat hated it because I have a really easy going cat. Well, this product does work great; it removes a tremendous amount of fur. However, the comb design is something like a razor blade with lots of little slits in it. The fine metal comb tugs my cat's coat really hard and hurts her. The one time I used it on her she growled at me, ran away and wouldn't come near me the rest of the night. I don't blame her; I wouldn't let someone run this through my hair either. You're better of going to your local walmart and getting a standard cat slicker brush for $5. Yeah, it won't remove as much fur, but it will be alot more useful than the furminator because your cat won't hide from you when they see it.
Best Comb out there for Cats! One of my cats gets tired easily of it December 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have to say that this item works wonderfully. I'll keep the review short and to the point with it's pro's and con's (my personal experience anyway).br /Prosbr /+ Grabs all of the extra undercoat. I can literally get handfuls of hair after one session of combing.br /+ Very sturdy/quality craftsmanship. It has a good weight to it.br /br /Consbr /- My cats ( I have two )tend to get tired of the combing pretty fast. I'm not sure if it pulls too much or if its just the repetitive motion that annoys them after awhile.br /- Sometimes it kind of loosens the dry skin/dandruff underneath the coat making things flaky.br /br /In the end, this product definitely delivers and is worth getting. Cats can be picky about it, but it's worth annoying them a little to save your house from being taken over by cat hair.
FURminator is the Fur Terminator December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've purchased many cat brushes and combs over the years but they either pulled or got stuck in my cat's long hair or didn't remove any hair at all. Then I saw a news flash on TV about the FURminator with postive reviews. I was excited to find this product on Amazon (for a much lower price!)and decided to give it a try after reading all the great reviews. And everything other buyers said is true. This is a great product! br /br /I have only one problem and it has nothing to do with this products performace. My 15 yr old cat never liked grooming and I still have to work with him to get the job done. But this comb takes out so much loose hair and so much easier that I don't have to fight with him very long to remove a nice clump of cat hair. So then I am able to calm him down sooner and it is less stressful for him. I also notice I don't have to give him as much hairball medicine which a few tubes can cost as much as the FURminator in a very short time. I recommend this product to anyone who has long-haired jumpy cats.
Must-have! December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This does a great job of removing excess hair on my cat. I've noticed a lot less shedding since I've started using it. My cat doesn't sit still long enough, so I have been brushing her about once a week. Highly recommed this if shedding is an issue!
