 Ferret Nation Cage September 23, 2008
I have had ferrets for years and my life is so much easier now with Ferret Nation. The cleaning time is so quick due to the inside design and easy to wipe down metal coating on the frame. I highly recommend this for any small pet owner!

Great Home For Large Chinchillas Too September 11, 2008
We have two female chinchillas at home and decided to purchase the Ferret Nation 142. Wow. What a great cage.br /I would have given this 5 stars, but there are a couple of drawbacks.br /The assembly instructions are difficult to follow, you need to look at the pictures carefully and figure out how the pieces fit together. Also, the hooks at the end of some of the ramps must be bent to properly hook into place. One of the shelf hooks was also bent out of shape, but I attribute that to a manufacturing defect or maybe a problem in shipping somewhere along the line. The end caps are also very hard to put in. (The end caps are used to cover the openings at the top of the side rails, which would otherwise allow you to purchase an optional third level, to make this cage even larger.) Midwest 143 Ferret Nation Add-On Ferret-Cage Level with Rampsbr /The quality is excellent. I also like that the metal is dark grey in color. (Previously, we had a white cage and that made it difficult to see through.)br /There are ramps to allow your pets to easily climb to the shelves and between levels, although they seem to prefer to jump. I like the fact that the ramp between the two main levels can be hooked in a horizontal position to prevent an animal from going between. This is fantastic to separate our chinchillas when they decide to fight over something (usually dominance.)br /When assembled the cage is about 5 1/2 feet tall, sitting on casters. It is very easy to move around and takes up a lot less floor space than I thought it would. Now we can actually move around in our living room.br /The bottom shelf is great for storage and you can place another pan on top of the cage for additional storage space, if you choose not to purchase an expansion level. br /The chins love the ramps. Fortunately for them they are large chinchillas. Smaller rodents may have problems with the spacing of the rungs on the ramps as they are not solid ramps. Tiny feet could get caught and that could be a problem, especially if a pet panics. The same problem exists with the edge of the included shelves. If you feel the gaps are too wide, I would suggest covering them with fabric.br /The doors to the cage require at least two fingers to open. (Pinch two levers together.) It will take some getting used to, but at least you can be assured that when properly closed, your pets will NOT be able to get out on their own.br /You can buy an optional ramp, Midwest Ferret Nation Exterior Ramp if you want to allow your pets to roam freely and re-enter the cage on their own.br /As I said, our chinchillas are large enough that they can fully enjoy the ramps and the shelves. They also appreciate the ability to sit and look out to see what's going on outside their protected environment. They love watching television and they are very comfortable doing so.br /This cage is a bit expensive, but I think worth the price. We love it and our chins do too. Overall, an excellent product.

I love this cage. It makes clean up a breeze and has plenty of room for my 3 babies. I love that I can close them up in the top while I do clean up on the bottom. It is VERY sturdy. Well worth the money - it is superior to others in the same price range. It rolls easily and can be moved around with hardly any effort. It also has the locking castors so you can keep it where you want. Like I said - you can't go wrong with this cage!
The Ferret Nation really is the best ferret cage there is! August 19, 2008
Fellow "ferret friends" online will almost always recommend the Ferret Nation cage for their fuzzies. I previously didn't have the money for it so I purchased a generic version, with ramps that were steep and hard for my little girl ferret to climb up. I bought the Ferret Nation here when it was on sale, and I would recommend it to anyone. It has more than enough room for three ferrets, and so many places to hang hammocks and put beds. The ramps are not steep and I think that even elderly ferrets can get up them with ease. Also it is very easy to clean!
