Great August 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great collar. Our once extremely stubborn great dane, minds the first time now and she hasn't broken our sliding glass door because she doesn't jump to the top of it anymore. She started responding on level 1 which surprised me. I tried it on my finger on level one and it's not comfortable , but it's not painful either. We do have to turn it up when we go on walks to keep her attention, but only to level 2. Normally I would have expected to already replaced the batteries 4-5 times by now (because of the spray collar we had in the past, that never controlled her behavior this well). We have only had to charge it 3 times and we've already had it almost a month. It's so nice not to have to change batteries. I really like this collar.
Miracle worker! August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this collar for an 18 month old pit bull. She weighs about 50 lbs. and has a high tolerance to pain. I bought this collar because Cammy would bolt out the door whenever she got a chance and run endlessly. It was nearly impossible to get her back! After using the collar for about a week to train her to come, I have had amazing results. We are now able to go anywhere without a leash, and she comes without any electric stimulation almost every time. She usually responds to the lowest setting, except when she is very distracted, it may take a little more. Since I bought this collar we have been able to play in the yard without fear of her running away. I highly recommend this collar for anyone with a dog that likes to bolt or jump on visitors!
Worked for about 2 months July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had this collar for about 2 months before it went kaput. I have an almost 80lb boxer and the collar worked fantasticially until I dropped the remote from hip height (I am 5'8") and it didn't break and nothing came lose in the remote, but it does not make the collar respond anymore. I have emailed the company and they told me that since it was dropped I am SOL. Hence I am out 230 bucks for a piece of crap that should be able to handle being thrown across the room let alone dropped 3 feet. Look for a different collar. This one is not worth the money you would spend on it.
Changed my world June 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Following the guide that's included this trainer is great. The fact that it's rechargable is HUGE since it's easy to leave on and drain batteries. My dog has been swimming in ocean and fresh water with no problems.
Works well June 4, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After following initial charging etc. this product worked great with minimal effort. We have a mid-size dog who used to bolt for the street upon seeing a dog or a squirrel etc. That problem is now gone. We did not need to trim any hair off the dog. We simply make sure that the pins make constant contact with the dog's neck. I tried the unit on my bare arm using settings 1-7 and it generates quite an annoying jolt. We set it to 5 for our dog. You obviously have to monitor your dog while he/she is wearing this. My only complaint is that the collar could have another steel ring on the opposite side of the receiver to hold up the excess length of the collar. I would advise not cutting the excess length in the event you ever decide to sell the collar. Bottom line is we're very happy with it.
