 Good, not fantastic. November 29, 2008
1. It's not a be-all, end-all solution. Maybe my cat is just 'special', but she still manages to get some of it outside of the box. Don't get me wrong, it's a BIG improvement...but don't think you're never going to see any on the floor. I'm trying one of the place mats that go in front of the litter tray that's supposed to catch stray litter, we'll see how that works.br /br /2. It really sucks that you have to buy special bags. I tried some of the regular store bought ones and they simply don't fit. So far I haven't found anyone who sells the Booda bags locally. Petsmart does have some Booda products, but they don't seem to carry this one, at least not in the sure. Not sure if Petco does but it's irrelevant since I won't go in there anymore.br /br /2a. The bags (even when you have the right ones) are awkward to fit the box. Some more thought really should have went into the design of that.br /br /With the exception of those few gripes, it's pretty nice. Constructed well, looks nice, seems to help with the smell and it's a definite improvement over how much kitty litter my cat *used* to scatter all over the floor.

I have 2 cats, one that is unusually small (6 pounds, fully grown and healthy)and one that is unusually large (21 pounds)... this litter box does the job, it keeps MOST of the litter inside the box, and it reduces smell A LOT. I was amazed at how roomy it is... my big cat has no trouble at all getting in and out of it, and she even has the room to turn around in it. br /The only drawback to this box is that it is very awkward... the lid doesn't snap on, so moving it to clean around it is difficult, and it is quite bulky, and (of course) cannot be wedged into a corner, due to its shape.br /Overall, this is a good buy. Based on the reduction of mess and smell, this is the best I've found yet.

I originally decided to get this litter box with my fiance's cat in mind (he's one of 3 cats in our house) because he's so shy that if you walked by our old litter box while he was going he'd run out in the middle of his business. This litter box definitely provides much better coverage for shy kitties. Other bonuses are that there is definitely less litter getting tossed out (with other boxes they used to kick it right out the door!) and tracked around. I noticed other reviewers complaining about having to vacuum the steps, but isn't that the point-to have the litter accumulate on the steps instead of on your floor? It's much more visually appealing than other litter boxes-even with other covered boxes, you can still directly see the litter inside, but not with this one. I've also noticed a reduction in smell, which is always nice. br /br /On another note, I could not get the liner that came with the litter box to fit it. I probably just wasn't putting it on right, but I spent probably half an hour attempting from all angles to get that thing on there, but it just wasn't going. However, I never used liners before I got this box, so it wasn't a big loss. I doubt my cats would have liked them anyway (picky things!).br /br /Also, it is a bit bigger than the average cat box, so keep that in mind if you already have an established cat box spot and your cats don't like change.br /br /Everything considered, I'd say this is an excellent litter box for the money.

Despite its shortcomings, this is probably the best litter box on the planet. I have a large cat, and he does not like traditional litter boxes. I think he feels cramped. With a regular litter box he will frequently walk inside, leave his rear sticking out the door and then do his business on the ground. He NEVER does that with the booda dome, and he tracks very little litter out. The dome is easy to clean because the lid comes right off. It is nice and deep so you can put in a lot of litter so the pee never reaches the bottom and sticks.br /br /I would probably not buy the dome form amazon though, many of the domes have manufacturing defects. The lip on the lid may be warped so the lid does not come on and off easily, or the filter clip may be deformed. I had to go to 2 stores and pick around to find one with minimal physical defects. br /br /I feel stupid writing such a long review for a litter box since I write most of my reviews for laughs. But kitty litter boxes have been a problem for me, and this one is the answer. I tried an expensive electric litter box and it just made a mess and caused problems. Save your money. The booda dome is better.br /br /PROS: Your cat wont poo/pee on the floor, very little litter tracked outside the box, easy to clean. deep.br /br /CONS: Difficult to move, difficult to put new litter bags in it, and you must use the booda brand bags.

Purchased this litter box because we have 2 dogs who like to "help us" keep the litter box clean...this works great to keep them out, but the cover comes off easily, On the other hand, since the cover can be lifted off and replaced so easily, it is a breeze to keep scooped out, being covered also cuts down on the odor and it is spacious...lots of room for Comet Cat!! We used it a few days w/ the cover off ~ just so Comet would have time to get used to it...Another plus ~ Comet is overzealous about "covering" her tracks after using the box, the cover helps to keep everything contained...there has not been any more scattering of litter all over the floor!! A great purchase!!! Worth the $$$
