Excellent Non-Scooping Solution January 2, 2009 We have had this litterbox for about one year (using World's Best litter), and would highly recommend it. We very rarely need to do anything more to clean the box than the standard roll to the right. Some clumps will stick to the bottom of the box, especially when the litter level gets a bit low: tapping the bottom of the box with your fist over the clump loosens it up easily. Our cat had no problems adjusting to the new box, and the closed-top design is helpful because, like her mother, she is thrower.br /br /From time to time we have researched other automated litter boxes but always decide to stick with this one. No electronic parts to fail, no proprietary refills, and fail-safe operation.
I Think You're All Wrong About This. January 2, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I rely more on customer reviews than anything else on Amazon. When I see something get 90% positive reviews I discount the 1 or few negative ones.br /br /It didn't play that way this time. I'm a technically adept person and to understand how this cat box works doesn't take a whole lot. The concept of it is great, it follows the best principles of design: Keep it simple. The implementation however, sucks. It boils down to Chinese manufacturing. The cheap grade of plastic, and the bad workmanship ruin what could be great. The hole the catch tray slides into is clearly cut by hand with a utility knife. The lack of a more secure railing track for the catch tray to slide on when it goes into the housing leaves it flopping around when the box is rolled. The fasteners on the bottom of the inside floor for the grate to fasten into are very loose and will probably not last the overall life of the box.br /br /There was a lot of clean litter in the tray the last time I emptied it, far more than should have been even with allowing for some natural spill over. I wound up having to scoop a good deal out of the main compartment the cat uses as well. Clearly defeating the purpose. Perhaps the previous ones sold were made with better quality plastic and functionality, or maybe I picked a bad month to quit drinking, but I'm going to look for something to replace it.br /br /It's not an overwhelmingly expensive let down but I can't recommend you buying this. It's less trouble to have a straight box and scoop it.
THRILLED with this box!!! December 31, 2008 I found this cat box while doing a search on Amazon about the newest cat litter box that hooks to your toilet system. That box was too expensive for me but this one came up as a thumbnail, so I checked it out and I'm so glad I did! What a brilliant idea!! Not only did I receive it within days (faster than estimated), but it just plain works great.. We have an older cat and a new 6 month old who's a real stinker, if you get my drift. Our older cat hasn't been thrilled with sharing a box with the little guy, but this has really solved the problem.. One turn a day and their box is kept clean and both of them are happy campers. And not having to scoop anymore!! A dream come true.. It really is as simple as rolling the box over on it's top, rolling it back, tipping it slightly in the opposite direction so the clean litter refills the pan, set it back flat, pull the drawer out with all the clumps in it and dispose of them. Truly simple! This cat box is the best kept secret out there! I've never seen one in the stores and I'm wondering why! br /I highly recommend it. By the way, we aren't using an especially expensive litter in it, either.. We've been using the Tidy Cat Scoops for multiple cats and so far, so good!
Less crappy than most December 31, 2008 I'm a first-time cat owner with two big cats from the humane society. After scooping their boxes for a couple weeks, I decided that scooping was not for me. I came across this thing while looking for electronic options. I'm glad I did. I have the large one and the two cats share it (they're brothers and used to sharing), and they produce a lot. As long as we make sure to roll it twice a day, it works fine and it takes a fraction of the time of scooping. For 98% of cases, banging on the side dislodges all the clumps. For the rest, I just take that scoop I had from before and scrape it. Some litter does get on the floor, but the amount from the seems is relatively small compared to what the cats track out anyway. I have yet to need to remove the top, though at some point I want to hose it out. br /br /I highly recommend this if you don't like scooping and you're cat isn't overly picky.
Best Llitter box of the world !!! December 29, 2008 I have used this litter box for about 3 months. Every morning, it only takes me a couple minutes to clean the litter box. I have three adult cats and they all love it! It is the best litter box!!!
