3 out of 5 stars misleading description   September 5, 2008

Although i must admit that this system could conceivably work just fine for a normal doorway, little information is given to "warn" the prospective buyer of the products limitations as to wider doorways.

No provision is made for adjusting to a wider doorway and, although the company has "adjusters", they want an additional exorbitant amount for those "adjusters". The result was that i had to swallow a $22 shipping charge to return the item to Amazon.

None the less, i do feel fortunate having purchased the item from Amazon which allowed me to return the item with no questions asked. I will be quite a bit more cautious the next purchase and, given the chance, will avoid any purchase from this company.

5 out of 5 stars Great gate   September 4, 2008
I have no complaints about this gate - I love it and am getting another one for another room in our house. Being able to step and knock the gate with your knee when you are holding your baby is really helpful. My husband installed it on a standard door frame. You have to follow the instructions to get it to fit snuggly, but once you have it installed properly, it is solid and won't go anywhere.

1 out of 5 stars My 11-month old can open this gate   September 3, 2008

We installed this gate at the top of our stairs yesterday; today, our 11-month old son opened it and fell down the stairs. He's not hurt, thankfully, but clearly the gate isn't very effective. The gate was properly installed and securely closed, but he was able to open it by standing on the foot pedal while holding onto the top of the gate.

The gate itself seems well-constructed and is very easy for my husband and I to use; however, because it's also so easy for our baby to use, we'll be replacing it with a different gate tonight.

I can't recommend this gate for installation in critical areas of your home.

5 out of 5 stars Baby gate   September 2, 2008
This is a great product for a household with small children or pets that need boundaries. It's "no hands" feature really works!

This gate has been great. It is exactly as pictured, easy to assemble and sturdy enough to handle repeated use. My Maltese puppy figured out a way to get through the side openings but a little duct tape fixed that. It keeps my dog confined and allows my 90+ year old mother free access. I wish I had gotten it earlier.
