 Effective, but irritated cat's skin June 29, 2008
Frontlline Plus works well for what it is intended. No fleas, no ticks, cat stopped scratching and pulling out his fur in his tail. I suspect he may have had skin mites-he is mostly outdoors- and the Frontline seemed to quell this problem.
My only complaint is the Frontline caused skin irritation between my cat's shoulder blades. This caused him to itch a lot. A bit of Benedryl cream eased his discomfort and everything healed just fine.
I would recommend this product.

When this product first came out on the market it was THE flea control solution. However, over the last year or so I have had several people tell me it did not work for them.
We were going to a "Pet Friendly" hotel for Thanksgiving Holiday and taking our diabetic cat with us. I treated her with Frontline (I use Revolution on all my indoor/outdoor cats because it protects for heartworm and we have NOT had a problem until now!!!) about a week before we left. She came home with fleas and flea eggs. Not realizing it was Frontline Failure, I treated all my indoor only cats with frontline and treated the furniture and carpet. Three months of treatments later there are even more fleas! Frontline is NOT cheap and to keep spending money on a product while the fleas thrive is beyond frustrating.
I am hearing this same story more and more. I don't know if the fleas are becoming immune to the Frontline OR if the manufacturer has changed the ingredients. In either case, PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
The cats treated with Revolution never brought fleas into the house. I didn't use it for Annie because I thought it would be "over kill" to treat her for a multitude of parasites when all I was worried about were fleas and ticks.
FRONTLINE USED TO WORK, BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE IT DOESN'T ANY MORE.
Please note that many of the positive reviews for this product are from 2005/2006--back when it still worked.

Pricey, yet effective... June 25, 2008
My vet initially recommended Frontline Plus to me for my cat's allergy to fleas. He was chewing his fur off, and the flea collar that was fine for his brother was not working for him.
Using Frontline Plus, his fur came back, and there have been no fleas or tick problems evident for the 9 months I've used it on him.
I know of no more effective product for the job. I only wish it was cheaper. I shopped around for it, both in brick and mortar stores, and the more heavily advertised Internet sites. Amazon's seller, Ashley's Animal Ark, had the best price, including shipping and tax.

We have 3 indoor cats. Usually monthly flea baths and occasional flea treatment controls the fleas. But our poor kitties were scratching and biting bald spots in their fur. The other OTC brands were useless. I ordered Frontline from Amazon because of the rave reviews here online. It is awesome! I've already marked my calendar for a follow up treatment next month. A great product sells itself!
