Excellent, but kind of pricey..... July 18, 2008 This is one nice brush, and the Cat even seems to enjoy us using it. Very well made and works wonderfully. Was a leap of faith that it would be work the money, but I am glad I jumped.
Better than a brush or comb July 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have 2 cats: Cat 1) very thick, straight, medium-length fur; Cat 2) medium thick, coarse, medium-length fur. I usually use a slicker brush or a flea comb to brush them. They are indoor cats and have nowhere else to shed but on our furniture.
I was able to get a lot of fur off Cat 1. He loves to be brushed so he thankfully also liked the Furminator. It also picked up a lot of his dandruff. Made his coat look wonderful. Cat 2 gets a little overstimulated by brushing, so it was hard to make her sit still for Furmination, but she tolerated it enough to get a gob of fur off her, too.
Overall notes: - If your cat doesn't really like brushing or combing, don't buy this. - If your cat is medium-sized or big, get a bigger-sized Furminator. I bought the 1.75 inch model specifically for cats, and it took about 20 strokes to go over the back of the cat. Wish I would have bought a bigger one for both cats and dogs to make the work faster. - Definitely do the Furminating on a hard surface and have the Swiffer near by. The fur goes all over the place.
Great concept! July 16, 2008 I have not used the Furminator, however, I do have a "furbuster" that I purchased from Walmart for $13.00 that is identical. It really removes the hair on animals. It works better though on my shorthair cat/dog than on my long haired cats. But their coats are all silky smooth after use!
Electric razor blade on a stick July 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have 2 cats (one is a Maine Coon mix) and a small condo...so I know a thing or two about clouds of cat fur. I was a bit nervous about spending $30 on a brush, but this product has tons of awesome reviews. I had it for several day and it didn't do anything. It didn't remove any more fur than a regular brush. The cats didn't like how rough I had to be to remove any fur. In fact, I have a retractable travel brush that works WAY better than this, and my cats love it.
Upon closer inspection I realized it was just a blade from an electric razor attached to a stick. Seriously, take a close look. If this works for your pet, buy your favorite shaver blade and glue it to a stick and you'll save your self a some money. Or better yet do what I do in the summer...shave the cats lion style! No shedding, AND they're full of vigor!
works good July 15, 2008 takes off a good amount of hair from my cats. I use it once a week to reduce the amount of shedding around the house.
