FURminator works great! May 29, 2007 My groomer recommended this product for my dog when I asked what to use to control the shedding. The FURminator works great! The floor stays cleaner and the dog stays cooler in the summer because there's less undercoat that didn't come out with regular brushing. As easy to use as a regular brush. I'd recommend this to anyone who has a shedding breed of dog with a thick undercoat.
Far and away the best de-shedding device ever May 28, 2007 The FURminator is amazing. It takes off so much excess fur our backyard looks as though we just sheared the sheep!
FUR BE GONE May 27, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just got mine today and while one cat can't stand to be brushed (she doesn't have the shedding problem, tho), Smidge just loves to be brushed. But the traditional brush doesn't seem to solve the problem. So I bought the FURminator. Smidge loves it. She rolled over to be brushed and the fur literally flew. I filled a plastic storage bag with it, and she still begged for more. So I am sold on it. Aside from being a little heavy, I have nothing bad to say about this product. It is worth it for me. In the future I will put a towel down to catch the excess but if Smidge likes it, I will keep using it.
The best grooming product I have found! May 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read an article about the Furminator in my local newspaper, but was a little skeptical that it would work that well on my short-haired Basset Hound. I have tried other grooming products, including a rubber grooming brush, and a regular hair brush, but it seemed like they would just temporarily pick up the top hair that was already falling off. So, closing my eyes to the price at a pet store, I brought one home and think it's the best money I have spent! Not only did it do exactly as advertised, but my Basset loved it! After sniffing it to check it out for himself, he allowed me to start stroking it down his back. Then he sat down like he was starting to enjoy it, eventually rolling over onto his side and almost falling asleep! I couldn't believe the pile of hair that came off of him! His coat felt so smooth when I was done, and I could rub my hand down his back and no hair came off like usual! Now when my dog sees me get out the Furminator, he sniffs it, promptly sits down, and waits for his grooming. I've seen some reviews where people thought you only had to use it once a month, but just like anything that grows hair, you do have to use it on a regular basis (every couple of days). But it sure cuts down on the amount of hair that comes off of my dog onto the carpet and furniture! Although somewhat pricey, I highly recommend the Furminator!
As a barber/stylsit I know tools of the trade. This thing works! May 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buy it. You will not be disappointed. Start slow and let your cat get used to it because this tool really works and it's a bonus if your pet looks forward to it like mine does.
