This is the best litter system we have every used including the automatic systems.
We started using this system in July of this year because we were looking for something that would not smell and not track everywhere. Our cat didn't like it at for the first two days but when we moved the old box out, she started using it.
We are traveling full time in an RV and needed something that wouldn't overpower us in that small space. I can't say enough good about this product. No one knows we have a cat unless she comes out of hiding.
I never have to touch anything when changing the pads....just let them slide out into the trash! You must dip the solid everyday but that only takes about 2 minutes. It's a Breeze!

Great product concept.... I put some of the pellets in my kitty's old litter box and left the two together for a few days, then took out the smelly old one. She took to it without problems, and I think we've both been happier for it! No more litter tracking EVERYWHERE, no more gigantic bags of used litter to be thrown out every week.
The pads don't last quite 7 days for me though... towards 6 days it gets pretty soaked and I throw it out. I'm sure if my cat peed all over it it would last, but she tends to only go in the corners. But it doesn't smell at all! Great product, Tidy Cat!
And for anyone reading this review looking for cheaper pad refills, I think the cheapest I found was the 4-pack at Wally World for <5 bucks. Cheers!
Great product, but.... October 4, 2008
I really like this product. I bought 2 additional units after the first one was a household hit with felines and humans alike! The use of this litter system has significantly cut down on dust from kitty litter. The pads are way more absorbent than I imagined they would be.
The only problem is: Availability of the litter pellets! They never seem to be in stock on Amazon. I checked at a local retailer where they sell the system and they were out of the pellets as well. The pellets seem to be almost indestructable and seem to last longer than the recommended month between replacement, but it would be nice to have the option to change them! Although the pellets remain intact, I suspect odor control capacity diminishes over time.

I've now had my litterbox for about a month. At first I was very skeptical about buying one, because it seemed a lot of people were complaining.
Well...I decided to just go ahead and buy one since I had a coupon.
It's probably the best decision I've made in a while.
At first, my 2 cats did try to eat the pellets, which were quickly coughed back up onto the bathroom floor.
Then, they didn't quite understand why they couldn't find their pee.
But.. after about a week, they were using the box with no problems.
The day I got the litter box, I took the old one and threw it out. I didn't even bother trying to coax them.
I don't recommend doing this, but my cats are only 5 months old and have had several litter boxes in the past 5 months. They hadn't quite gotten used to the one they had anyway.
It is very easy to scoop the poops. Some of the little granules get stuck in a poop or two, but that's not a huge loss.
The pads are very thick and retain the pee quite nicely. There is NO smell!!!
I kept the pad in there for 7 days, and when it came out it was very very heavy and a little smelly, so I think maybe changing the pad every 3-5 days would be better.
Also I bought another bag of litter, because I think my cats felt like they weren't getting enough coverage. So 2 bags of litter make them feel better, I think.
They do like playing with the litter, so I have pieces of it floating around in the bathroom, but that's fine. Much easier to sweep up than the grainy clay stuff.
So I definitely recommend this box!

I was a little nervous about switching over to this new product due to several reviews that said that the smell of cat poo was the trade off for eliminating the smell of cat pee. I tried it anyway and I could not be more happy with the results. My two 6 year old cats now pee in the Tidy Cats Breeze and poo in their old litter box. There is seriously NO urine smell...even when I smell the very used pad close up. And the fact that my cats have decided not to poo in it...makes clean-up very easy. And the poo smell is still contained by the original litter box that I now only scoop out with no urine...perfect! Not sure if everyone's cats would do the same thing, but this is has made my life so much better!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Thanks Tidy Cats!!
