The measurement from the collar out to the edge of the cone is 8.25" Customer Reviews: great alternative to Elizabethan collar   August 12, 2008 After my puppy got spayed, she was given the plastic Elizabethan collar from the vet which did work preventing her from chewing at and licking the wound but she kept crashing into the furniture in crowded areas of the house and had difficulty picking up her toys. The comfy cone is soft and she doesn't resist when we put it on her.
