completely delivers July 28, 2008 it's a laser, it has cool "templates", it works, i like it, as does my cat.
worked great July 28, 2008 Bought this for my husband for his b'day to use on our female JRT. Yes, we are easily amused:) The light worked very well and she chased it all over. Unfortunately, she is very smart and she always figures out where the light is coming from so then the game changes to her standing and barking at you, LOL. Although she had chewed up the last laser light we had, I though this one, being mostly metal, would be safe and I left it on the sofa. Found pieces of metal and plastic and one very chewed up laser light the next day:( The bad news is, she was sick all day. The good news is she recovered quickly and the laser still works!
Cat laser toy July 17, 2008 I was disappointed in this item for two reasons. One, it is very flimsy and not much to it. Two, I walked into my local Walgreens and saw the exact same item (regular price) for $3.99 (I paid $5.99). The laser does work and does amuse the cats but definitely is not worth the $5.99 I paid. Buyer beware...
The good and the bad. July 17, 2008 I ordered two. The one pictured in the ad arrived and so did one with the batteries stored inside of the laser. The one pictured works fine, but the one with the batteries already inside did not work at all. They both were the same exact product, but I guess the company realized that the batteries needed to be stored outside or they will die. This product uses what look like to be watch batteries. Which is a pain for finding replacement batteries when they die. Spend a little bit more and get some thing that uses AA or AAA batteries. You be happier in the end.
Vet recommended excellent entertainment, cheap product May 27, 2008 This is one of the few 'toys' that truly fascinated our 2 cats, and kept them running and entertained for as long as we used it versus playing with other toys for a few minutes before getting bored. We've never seen them more mesmerized by this, especially when slowly moving across a wall or ceiling out of reach. After we'd stop, they'd be wide-eyed waiting for it to reappear, or searching for where the light went.
My wife was concerned this was causing a mental trauma. We spoke to a couple vets who said this is perfectly fine and stimulating entertainment both physically and mentally and not to worry.
The problem with this product is two-fold: a) the batteries run out quite quickly, and they are not as easy or cheap to replace as other laser pointers that use rechargeable AA or even AAA batteries, so look for those instead. b) the flimsy made item's button broke within a few months of light usage. cheap to replace the item, but you may replace it often.
