Made in China - but has been evaluated by a lab May 7, 2008 I have had dogs all my life. I used to only give dog food & table scraps for years. I noticed with a poor human diet of my family & dog food they died early and/or had many issues. We had one dog that would not eat dog biscuits of any kind if made with grains & would rather starve then eat kibble. If fed canned dog food w/grains he was lethargic & had bad gas. That is when realized dogs cannot digest grains. Our dog now within a year of his birth was very lethergic, moody, depressed & seemed to have arthritis even on no grain kibble. Within a month of given only rice added dog food he was more energetic & no more arthritis. He still had a little issue with rice, so we find very simple dog food or rarely give it to him & give him human grade canned or refrigerated pre-cooked meat with frozen veggies, pre-cooked eggs & olive oil for fat for shiny coat. With the China scare I was not worried much since he ate mostly human grade food & the dog food I choose I read the labels for the most quality ingredients. When I read these reviews, I admit since I've used this product for 2 years w/o issues on a sensitive dog, I never checked the origin like I do when debating new dog food products. I checked the internet & this product was never on the recall list & they had their product analyzed by a lab very soon after the massive recall to prove they were safe. (Do a search.) Considering almost all dog products have grains, there are soooo many dog "cookies" it's very hard to find simple meat treats w/nothing added.
"MADE IN CHINA" - No thanks May 7, 2008 Until I have been assured and convinced that my trust will not be violated again, I will not consume anything from China and neither will my critter companions.
And while I'm mentioning it, I recommend against purchasing pet food from dollar type stores also (note that virtually all of it comes from China too). Our furry loved ones depend on us to take the greatest care in what we put in their bowl.
All-time Favorite April 10, 2008 I used to buy this from a doggie store near my office, but I saw it cheaper at Amazon with the subscription. Now I have a monthly delivery for 25% off what I would normally pay for this. This is the evening treat for my 3 "kids" and it has become a ritual. I always have to have this on stock.
feeding their addiction December 28, 2007 my dog loves these. she'll run through all the tricks she knows, without me asking, just to get a single strip.
Happy Dog! December 21, 2007 My dog just loves these! Even better? He's prone to food-allergies, but is doing just fine with these treats.
