It is easy to care for, quiet, and effective. The Fluval 2 Plus Internal Filter is a great aquarium filter for any small aquarium, turtle or reptile tank with up to 24 gallons of water. The Fluval 2 Plus Internal Filter has a flow rate of 105 gph and uses 120v5watts.The double filter cartridge comes with two foam pads and allows for alternate replacement for continuous biological filter activity. The filter cartridge also has a designated area for optional media such as Polyester Filter Pads or Special Carbon Filter Pads (not included). The Filter Cartridge also features a clogging indicator that will indicate when the filter media needs to be changed. The 90 Swivel Spout directs the flow output and allows a change of flow pattern in the aquarium. The Water Flow Adjuster can be used to increase or decrease the flow output for feeding or other requirements. An Air Flow Control Device is also included to create a Venturi Effect for added aeration. This Fluval 2 Plus Internal Filter is specially designed to sit vertically or horizontally. Customer Reviews: Best Turtle Filter   July 10, 2008  1 out of 1 found this review helpful I've tried several different filters for my aquatic turtle, none could keep his tank clean for more than a week or two. Then I read a review of this filter on a turtle forum, and thought I would give it a try. I couldn't be happier! I only have to clean the turtle's tank every 2 months or so. Red eared sliders are dirty pets. I do have to use the filter horizontally since the tank isn't completely full. A Good Filter for Planted Tanks   December 30, 2007  3 out of 3 found this review helpful For the past 20 years, I've had planted aquariums, ranging from 10 gal to 50 gal. In the past, I tried hang-on filters, canister filters, etc, and annoyed with all the noise and the extra work they seem to create, I started using Fluval internal filters years ago and love them. A planted tank's CO2 levels (needed for good plant growth)can easily be depleted with filters that agitate the surface water. I have Fluval 1s up to the Fluval Plus 4 in all my tanks. If you have lots of plants and not many fish, these are great filters. They are extremely quiet and reliable. My big tank is in my guest room, and my guests don't notice the filter noise. Being in the country, my electricity goes out frequently for short periods of time -- the filters start up just fine once it goes back on and I have never lost any fish. Since I have a light fish waste load, I only need to clean the filters about 4-6 times a year, using water pulled from the aquarium so I don't damage the biological bacteria. I pack my filters with foam and bio balls, and if necessary for a short time to polish the water after moving plants, I use a poly pad. Used in the right circumstances (i.e. light to medium fish waste and filtering needs), these filters are hard to beat. Use it right   January 29, 2007 This filter works perfectly for any kind of aquarium, depending on how you use it. Without a filter, you would need to replace the water in your tank nearly everyother day. The filter, depending on the size, will allow you to replace the water every other week. My tank is 20 gallon but only filled about 3-4 inches and the water was constantly mucky with turtle waste. Dont waste your money on this filter!
