TY Jeff Dann Was it ever even there?   September 18, 2008 Seriousely, if you have an aquarium and you don't want to hear the pump drone on for hours a day lulling you to sleep with it's hypnotising pumping action noise I advise you get this. This baby is far quieter than most of the models I've seen and it does a great job too! Pushes a lot of air, and really really noisy   April 17, 2008  1 out of 1 found this review helpful "Whisper" is a strange name to choose for this pump, because it sounds more like a mini-jackhammer. Almost immediately after I began using it, the thing went from reasonably quiet to obnoxiously loud. I opened it up and found that the magnet used inside to create the pumping motion was poorly attached to its metal arm. I used some aquarium silicone to better fasten it and dampen vibration. That helped, but I've found since then that it's gotten noisy again and I haven't been able to fix it, this time. So, the pump does move air, but not quietly. air pump   April 8, 2008 I've used one of these pumps in my fishroom continiously, for 3 years without a breakdown. well made. I can only hear the bubbles from the air-stone! I will use Whisper Air Pumps for both of my aquariums, because they are built really good and are Super Quiet! I recommend these aquarium air pump for all Aquarium Owners!
