 SmartScoop is a smart buy. August 8, 2008
I've had my SmartScoop litter box for about a month now. It has saved me a lot of scooping in a multi-cat household. I learned that it works better with LESS litter. I especially appreciate the support I've received from the company. After I emailed them, they sent me an update kit AT NO COST, which included an improved rake (26 tines instead of 20) and an improved motor.

I read many of the reviews, but decided to go and try this product. I have a littermaid and the smart scoop, and feel they are both equal...as soon as the littermaid dies I will replace with a smart scoop. I did have one problem with it when I first got it, I contacted the manufacture and replacement parts were sent out....questions asked were simple and the assistance from them was very helpful.
One person wrote that they spend just as much time cleaning it as they did the regular litterbox, I do check mine everyday, and do tweek the boxes(the above two)...in less time than I did with the regular boxes.
So the bottom line is I love the smart scoop and find it is not that noisy when running....it is truly a personnal choice and comfort. My 3 cats say we love it too!!!

I used the other automatic cat box and was told about this one. Wish I had known about this one first, it works so much better and is easier to replace the waste bags. More room for the cats and they love it. Its easier to use and there is less smell from this one than the one I was using.

I decided to give this a try since I have tried the Litter Robot I, Litter Maid Elite Mega, Scoop Free, Cat Genie, and the Omega Paws Roll Away with no true success. After calling and receiving the upgrade package, this box stays cleaner and is easier to care for then any of the other litter type boxes I have tried before. It still does take some interaction, but it is so much less then the others. The only one that is even easier is the Cat Genie, but since I can only get half of my six cats to use it, I had to find an alternative second box.
The only reason I gave the Smart Scoop 4 stars instead of 5 is that it still occasionally rolls a pee clump out of the box onto the cat mats in front of it, but I have an idea for a fix for this so we will see... This box might not be the answer for everyone, but for me it is a huge reduction in time spent maintaining a clean litter box for six cats.

Great litter box June 14, 2008
We bought our litter box 6 months ago and it worked okay, but there were some problems. I contacted the manufacture and they send use an upgrade kit for free. I was amazed when I opened the box, there was a new MOTOR, new rake and a few other parts. This as a very expensive upgrade for the SmartScoop folks and it was sent to us for free. After installing the upgrades the box is awesome!!!!!!
It works great and We are thrilled. We would highly recommend this product.
