NOT! July 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used Everclean cat litter for 6 years now, and found it excellent in the qualities of clumping, odor control, and low tracking. But, I've had concerns because it isn't flushable and so means I'm adding small bags to landfills every day. It also creates some dust when poured in or scratched about in. Based on the preponderance of reviews here, I've tried "World's Best" for two weeks, and I've just given away what I have left. It does clump pretty well (for a non-clay litter) and is pretty much dust-free, as advertised. BUT, it is decidedly not low-tracking, and more importantly, starts out having a very peculiar odor. As soon as it is combined with cat excreta, the odor becomes foul. I tried abating that by mixing in half a box of baking soda. Very SLIGHT improvement. Then I tried mixing it half and half with another flushable litter; no difference in the odor problem and the clumps weren't holding together. The litter box is in my one and only bathroom, and I just can't have myself, and my guests, facing that odor all the time. So I gave it away; it may be less of a problem for cat owners who keep litter boxes in unused areas.
Yeah, it's smelly, but it's good for your cat and the enviornment... May 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First, let me state that I don't smell any difference between this standard variety of World's Best litter and the "extra strength" one. They add some kind of plant protein to the "extra strength" one, but both litters are very lacking in odor control. Either that, or my cat takes extremely smelly poops.
However, if you don't mind the lack of odor control, this litter is great. It's just ground up corn. You can probably eat it if you had to, with GREAT DEPRESSION 2 coming (joking). But really, corn litter is better for the environment than strip mining it for clay litter. Since it's just corn, it's completely safe and healthy for your cat as well.
Sometimes the urine clumps break apart. My cat loves to dig into this litter and kick it all over the place and it's annoying to sweep up off the floor. And yeah, it tracks. I see little yellow paw prints on the carpet sometimes.
But I care about my cat's health and that's why I use this litter. Plus, he seems to like it. Though, to be fair, any litter I've tried with him in the past he's used without being fussy.
Great Name - Great Product March 31, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I certainly understand why this is called "World's Best Cat Litter" because it absolutely is. We have tried all kinds of litter. The clay leaves dust everywhere. The wheat based litter is horrible. It's like trying to scoop day old dried oatmeal out of the litter box.
This stuff is amazing. It clumps perfectly and completely. The unclumped litter stays clean. I don't think it actually needs to be completely changed as often as they recommend.
It is more expensive, yes. It's totally worth every penny, in my opinion. You only need to line the bottom of the pan with about an inch of the litter.
We have 4 cats and 5 litter boxes. Scooping was always a hassle but there is no odor with this litter. I've been scooping every other day and it's not even work.
I'm a believer! Awesome product!
Great Litter January 17, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have four cats and I've found this to be a great product. It clumps much better than any of the clay litters and I feel much better about using this not toxic product. Plus you can flush it, rather than having to put the pet waste in a bag and then take it out to the garbage can. With clay litter, you get a big cloud of dust every time you add more litter, but not with this product. It is expensive, but as long as we scoop it frequently, the 34 pound bag will last nearly a month for four cats. My cats love World's Best Litter and so do I!
My cat likes it, and I LOVE it! December 11, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is wonderful stuff for us. We MUST have a cat litter that is safe for dogs to eat, since regardless of what we do, our dogs find a way to eat some of it. At the same time, clumping litter is so much more convenient. So that leaves this corn litter and the wheat kind. The wheat-based brand gives off LOTS of dust, about 50 times the dust that this one does. Not exagerating. Our cat thought nothing of the change to this one and uses it just fine. It does control the odor far better than other varieties (I have been foster mom to 50 cats over the years, and I have tried every litter including clay, pine, newspaper, and wheat). This one is the best by far. That said, if your cat will not use it, it is worthless to you! So you may want to try the small bag first.
