 Good Crate for Temporary Use June 13, 2008

I use this crate for my lab when I visit my Mom. The crate folds up easily and is lightweight. For everyday use I have a hard plastic crate.

Excellent crate for transporting a pet in a van or SUV where there is sufficient height from the floor so vision is not obstructed. Not suitable for setting crate on a car seat.

The biggest problem with my order was that I ordered a crate way too big for my GSP. However, if the smaller had suited her, I would have returned it based on the difficulty in zipping the mesh sides and top. The teeth of the zippers didn't line up and the mesh was so tight that it was a struggle to do. Of course, I could have just had the one defective unit - all else seemed sturdy and well-made.

I chose this style of soft crate because of the side door feature. I can put two Medium sized crates (I have two Australian Shepherds) in the back seat of my crew cab Ford F350. I was surprised at the qualify of the workmanship and the extra features that were included with the crate.Such as the soft bed mat and excessory bag. The crate folds up easily, without having to remove any pieces (like some other soft crates that I have used). The hard rubber corners help prevent wear of the crate on rough or dirt surfaces. This is a big plus in my book! I would recommend this style of crate for those wanting to put them in vehicles but can't get a wire or hard sided crate in through the door. These soft crates will fit through a door easily when collasped and can be assembled inside the vehicle with ease.

This crate is a good quality product. I researched several different brands of fabric crates and found this one to be easy to setup and take down and made well. My only suggestion for the company would be to try and make the mesh of lighter color so as not to absorb the heat from the sun (when outside) and to allow better vision for the dog inside and for the owner to observe dog from outside the crate. Also, it would be a nice addition to have zipper "locks" on it just in case a dog "tested" the zipper.
Our two grown labs each have used it and seem to be comfortable in it. We have the 36" long (blue) crate.
