Product Description My First Home is the perfect starter cage for your Guinea Pig or Dwarf Rabbit! It snaps together in minutes without the need for tools. Our innovative design makes cleaning a snap, too. My First Home offers plenty of room for your favorite little critter, yet it is compact enough to place on a dresser or counter top. The deep plastic base prevents bedding from scattering while the white wire top makes for easy viewing and superb ventilation.

We got a cage for our guinea pigs at a great price and it came even sooner than promised.
Great cage for 2 rats! August 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Item is cost effective and works wonderfully! We added ledges and tunnels and our rats love it! Nice size too! Perfect for 2 (maybe 3 females) rats according to cage calculators. Awesome price (the cheapest I have found anywhere!) for this cage and very easy to clean. I highly recommend this for all looking for a larger cage. Would not work for those with baby rats because of the bar spacing, but older baby rats would be fine in here!

Too SMALL for Guinea Pigs! May 24, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This cage is far too small for a guinea pig to live in full time. Guinea pigs living in this cage are basically living in a litter box. They need room to walk, play, and "popcorn" or they become very unhealthy very quickly. Please search the internet for other options for guinea pig cages before even thinking of purchasing a cage of this type. Next time you see a guinea pig in a cage of this type, look at their attitude. I never knew that guinea pigs were happy little creatures until I found out that they sell cages that are too small to you at the pet store. Every guinea pig I'd ever seen were depressed, and sad little animals.
Now I know why, so I'm trying to warn others.
I also have a big problem with the latch, the door is TOO small to try to get things in and out, the handles hurt your hands, and the stuff that was included in the "kit" that came with my cage were completely inappropriate for guinea pigs -salt lick, sugar treats etc. I didn't know any of this at the time.
Please take the time to research about guinea pigs before you purchase anything for your piggies.
I'm giving it one star, because the one positive thing is that it doesn't have a wire floor...a deadly thing for Guinea pigs.
They don't Appear to Last March 11, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What I'm about to say may not be the best review, because I only get to use these cages after they are used.
I've used these cages at the animal shelter, so I'm not sure if my opinion is totally objective. The tops of the cages don't hold together well. The latches don't work, meaning the doors don't stay shut. You end up having to be creative in keeping the cage top together. I have no way to know how old the cages are when they are donated. I can only tell you that when we have to purchase cages, this one is never on our list.
