This Really Saved Elsa's Life June 11, 2008 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
Many summers ago, when repairs were being done at home, one of the workers carelessly let Elsa outside.
Being a Persian, she lacks hunting skills and is shy with strangers. The combination of these traits make Persians very unlikely to survive stray life outdoors.
Nervous worrying made me determined to find her. I took off two weeks of work. Everyday asking neighbors about her, calling her name out and searching for her by car and on foot was all I could do. By week two, I was nearly convinced that she had perished. When someone finally had seen her and recognized her, my hope and determination was renewed.
Exactly fourteen days later, at dusk, she was eating the food I'd left for her along with a box of my clothes(I read this tip on the internet)
Back indoors, she was extremely thin and weak, the vet administered fluids and treated the flea infestation.
Upon discharge he recommended Nutri-Cal. The fleas really sucked out so much blood, she was still very lethargic and had a poor appetite.
Little by little she began eating. Nutri-Cal was fed to her sometimes as the only food she wouldn't reject. By fall, she was back to herself. Healthy, chubby and playful. I can't emphasize enough how important Nutri-Cal was to her recovery.
Picky Eater February 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 70 pound lab sometimes refuses to eat while traveling. On top of that he is an extremely picky eater to begin with (refuses canned food, rarely eats kibble...etc) I always have nutri-cal on hand just in case. It keeps him functioning until his appetite returns. It does make his breath smell bad though, I think because it contains cod liver oil. A bigger size would be nice. Seems like a lot plastic waste could be avoided this way....
Great for dogs that need a quick energy boost February 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a chihuahua, and whenever they get the shakes, it gives them quick energy. This can even prevent death if your dog can't tap into a fast energy source.
Pet Vitamins May 13, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Items came very quickly. Is a great value. I paid less than half of what I paid for the same item in the pet store.
Great Product March 8, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We have a finiky puppy and giving him this vitamin twice a day jumps starts his appetite. I would highly recommend it.
