Product Description Soft Paws are an excellent alternative to declawing your cat(s). They are easy to apply and are completely safe and humane. Soft Paws are vinyl nail caps that are applied with an adhesive on to your cat's existing nails. Soft Claws will NOT interfere with your cat's normal claw extraction and retraction. Best of all cats tolerate them extremely well. The pack contains 40 (FOURTY) nail caps, 6 (SIX) applicator tips, 2 (TWO) tubes of special adhesive and complete instructions. As a rule of thumb, Small Size fits cats weighing up to 8lbs, Medium fits cats 9lbs to 13lbs and Large fits cats 14lbs and up.

Best I've Found June 4, 2008 I've been using them for about six months, i was going to have to get rid of the cat if she didn't stop scratching everything in the house. I put them on all her claws except thumbs and inside toes on her back feet so she can still use the cat tree. The only problem I've had was them getting stuck in the rug and the wire fencing on her outside play area when she tried to scratch something. I had to cut one rug up to get her out.
NOT FOR ALL CATS May 6, 2006 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I got vinyl nail caps to curb the scratching (of me and of furniture) of two indoor cats. While they did this successfully and both cats are comfortable having their nails trimmed, neither cat took to them in the ways described by other reviewers. In fact, they mostly chewed at them...both immediately after application and much later. Even after two years of continued application, the cats still occasionally chew them off, sometimes taking part of their skin or the root of the nail with them. This has produced bloody, sensitive paws which make me worry about infection and about how ethical they are. PAINFUL OPEN WOUNDS are exactly what we all try to avoid by not declawing! This might be a rare thing and obviously doesn't happen to everyone, but I checked the medical literature and the American Veterinary Medical Association website and found that the safety of these nail caps has never been tested (in fact the AVMA removed nail caps from their position statement on declawing). Now I'm stuck between risking pain and infection for my cat at least once a month and worrying about the damage they could do to people and children if I don't. I urge people to consider a more humane option if one is available.
Great Alternative to Declawing February 24, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I LOVE this product. It keeps our kitty from scratching furniture and people and makes him so much safer and easier to play with. It took practice to learn how to apply these (our vet tech trained us) and we find it easiest to apply the tips if one person holds kitty and another person has two free hands to glue on the tips. The kitty doesn't seem to mind having them applied or wearing them too much. They last a few weeks on average and when one falls off it only takes a minute to replace it.
So far -ok... 2 people should do it... March 17, 2005 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I put them on a five month old kitten. It was traumatic for him until he stopped fighting me. He has tried to take them off. He was successful with a couple because the glue hadn't dried all the way. I gave him milk while they dried the second time. So far, he's had them on for an hour & has given up a little on taking them off. They are still on for now. It was definitely a 2 person job. I recommend these, but it's not easy at first. The instructions say it gets better with training. If I had help applying, there may have less upsetting for the kitty. I am currently cover in the super glue & fur, Kitty still stand-offish about coming to me.
