Works Great April 1, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I read some of the other reviews, it made me realize that reviews, in the end, can only relay each person's personal experience. The product might be great, but the person used it wrong. The product might be horrible for one person who uses it a lot, and great for someone who hardly uses it at all. It's kind of like saying chocolate ice cream is clearly the best and vanilla is horrible. I like the reviews, but you do need to read ten or twenty before you can make a decision. As for this product, we've had this water bottle for years and we love it. I say "we" because my husband is not an animal person, so he would be the first to complain if the bottle gave him problems. The size and shape makes it easy to pack for trips, and not to cumbersome for walks. I never use the spout, I take the cap off, put the tray on the ground, and pour in the water. I'm not my dogs' valet after all, I'm not going to stand there and hold the thing for them. So maybe the people who don't like the product are the ones trying to use it and hold it the way the photo shows. Of course, the price is high. I mean, it's a water bottle. Don't people throw water bottles away every day? It has a tray, so tack on a buck or so. To be honest, I bought it years ago and I don't remember what I paid. If you really need to economize, just hold on to the bottle the next time you finish your bottled water, get some kind of small tray (like gladware) and rubberband them together. Long story short, it's a water bottle with a tray that's handy. It works for us.
On the road again... January 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This purchase quickly became part of our doggy pack and goes with us everywhere from the local park to the lake, etc. It's so easy to use and certainly beats carrying a bottle of water and a separate bowl or hunting a portable water supply.
For Responsible Dog Owners December 10, 2007 I think these water bottles are the best thing since sliced bread. I have two dogs that I like to go on walks with (and short hikes) I stick two bottles in my backpack and they don't take up a lot of room. I keep two in my car (one for each one of them) two at home and two in my backpack....guess I like the product. Keeping my dogs hydrated during our jaunts has never been easier. Haven't had an issue with leaking.....and you just put the bottle in the tray and it is easy for both you and your four legged friends. I highly recommend these-guess I better if I have 6 of them!
Not handy to use - buy the Gulpy pet dispenser instead September 18, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have this pet water dispenser and I found it to be a nuisance while out in the park with my dog. In order to use it you have to un-clip the bottom, pull the water bottle out, push it into the top opening and then begin squeezing the water bottle to dispense the water. Also, the water comes out in very small increments. I used it twice and gave up.
I found the Gulpy pet water dispenser by New Angle to be far superior to the Handi-Drink version. You just pull up the water bottle and begin squeezing the bottle and your dog is drinking water in seconds. The water comes out much easier than the Handi-Drink and the Gulpy is far more convenient. I have never found the Gulpy pet water dispenser on Amazon but if you Google it you can find other places that sell it. I also just recently found it at my local REI store.
I have purchased several Gulpy's to keep in both cars and to give to friends. In my opinion, this one is far better than the Handi-Drink, if only for ease of use.
Only in my dreams! Spill-proof dog water bottle...It doesn't work! August 6, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Well, it looks really nice, inexpensive, sounds pretty good, is compact enough to throw in a backpack. Please advise, it leaks and made a big mess, I was extremely annoyed and disappointed. Therefore, if you plan to go for a walk, kill 2 birds with 1 shot, taking your toddlers, their bottles, snacks, little toys and your puppy at the same time; make sure to add an extra bottle of water, because that one only serves the purpose as a bowl.
