I've owned this product for over a year. It is both sturdy and bright. I have a 90 pound shepherd and a 55 pound chow who are both dominant dogs. So feeling secure with the strength of the collar is important to me and I have no hesitance to use this collar on either dog.
Perhaps the other reviewer should return the product as it may have had a defect?

This collar is only for decoration. My 100 pound dog was able to break it on the first walk with it on. You might try putting it over a strong collar but it won't work by it's self.
