 Great food, but will create picky chinchilla April 13, 2008
I have more than 7 years of experience with chinchillas and let me say... you want to keep them on an all pellet food if possible. When I purchased my first chinchilla, I had little knowledge (just what I read on a few websites and what Petco told me) about what food was best for a healthy diet. I realized pretty quickly that when given options, my chinchilla ate all of the treats, avoiding most of the pellets. What I do now (proud owner of 3 very different chinchillas) is give them fresh (kept in a Glad container) pellets every evening. They get some oatmeal (1/2 tsp) in the morning, a raisin or dried papaya piece during the day, and fresh hay at night. If you want to purchase this product, try to use it only as a treat unless you know your chinchilla will definately eat everything.
