5 out of 5 stars The FURminator deShedding Tool Works for Me!   November 18, 2008
I finally bought this item last week, after my friends and family started to complain about the dog hairs that were everwhere! My Shepherd is losing his undercoat, and this fall season seems to be the worst ever! I have used all my grooming tools the past month, and the hairs kept coming.. Last week, the Furminator arrived, and the 1st day, in only 5 minutes, had a pile of hair that could have made a baby sweater. The dog enjoyed it, the same as the regular brush. I continue to use it this week, but every day, the pile of hair becomes smaller...Today, there was just a tiny bit. I cant recommend this tool enough, especially if you have a shepherd with an undercoat! This will save you hours of housework! On a rating from 1-10, I rate it a 12!

5 out of 5 stars It works, cat is happy   November 17, 2008
Really works. My cat is shorthaired, yet after first round of brushing I had a small bag of brushed-out fur. Cat seems to like it too. br /I bought the biggest one, but for my average-sized cat I could have used medium size.br /

5 out of 5 stars OMG!!!   November 17, 2008
What can be said that hasnt already? THE THING ROCKS!!!! My Pembroke Welsh Corgi which is a shedding machine looks pounds lighter now. Coat is silky smooth and I am vacuming up a LOT less fur now. There was literally a mound of fur the size of my dog after the first use. Now to some who said it did nothing for them I suspect was the fact that it is not for short hair animals or ones that do not shed. I can highly recommend this device. I bought the large version. It wasnt really anymore expensive and takes fewer strucks becuase of its size as well.

5 out of 5 stars Finally something that works!   November 17, 2008
I have owned, loved, bred and shown maine coon cats for over 11 years now and this is the first grooming tool that I have found to cut back on the shedding. It took some getting used to for all of us, but the end result is just wonderful. I use my medium sized furminator once a week and I no longer have to vacuum every other day! I will give you some pointers on use though: First there is some static involved and the best way to deal with it is with a damp/wet paper towel, groom and then wipe/place fur onto the paper towel and fold over to hold down the fur. Another helpful idea is to groom with the furminator about a dozen strokes or so and then follow up with a regular comb to help pull the fur from the coat and also to help with the static again. Avoid the tummy if you can, if not be sure to be gentle and go slow, whatever you do... watch the wiskars! My parents accidently got the side of their males' face and "poof" no more wiskars for a while.

5 out of 5 stars Great tool   November 16, 2008
This is an excellent tool. I used it on both of my dogs and ended up with a huge pile of hair - much more than a regular brush. I think pulling out all that loose hair makes my dogs feel better too. I am very satisfied with the FURminator and would definately recommend it!
