The Only Effective Tick Control July 5, 2008 Thank heavens for this product. At first I got bad results due to using the dog product on my cat to save money, then I ponied up the money and bought this. Our backyard is pretty much woods and there-in lives deer. I got a cat last year and also got Lyme disease. Unlike my first trials with the 'dog-intended' package, this year I've seen NO fleas and NO ticks (alright, I have seen two barely alive ticks, but they don't count - and were immediately burned to be sure). I did a lot of research and every source said the same thing, Frontline Plus is the only effective TICK control for cats. Yes, it is definitely effective! -Also, every source mentioned never to use the dog product on cats, my bad.
cat's meow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 July 3, 2008 The frontline plus for my 2 girls is fantastic.
It is the only thing that my Siamese will tolerate. She is allergic to fleas and some of the other products on the market will not work for her, and some she is allergic to.
A collar is not something that she will tolerate.
As for my Torti, she will tolerate the frontline, but she will not tolerate anything else. She is allergic to collars and most other products for flea control that are on the market.
My cats are no longer scratching! July 1, 2008 This is such a fantastic product. I use it on all of my cats, but it has been especially beneficial to my cat Oreo. Oreo would scratch at herself constantly and would cry while she did it, but now she doesn't do that. EVER. I have nine cats and I know that they are all very grateful for this product. My cats have never had a problem with ticks, but I would feel confident about using this medicine for ticks if they ever did because of how well it's worked on their fleas. A couple of my cats developed sores from other flea products, but Frontline has had no adverse affects and has just been 100% helpful!
Effective, but irritated cat's skin June 29, 2008 Frontlline Plus works well for what it is intended. No fleas, no ticks, cat stopped scratching and pulling out his fur in his tail. I suspect he may have had skin mites-he is mostly outdoors- and the Frontline seemed to quell this problem. My only complaint is the Frontline caused skin irritation between my cat's shoulder blades. This caused him to itch a lot. A bit of Benedryl cream eased his discomfort and everything healed just fine. I would recommend this product.
What happened? June 28, 2008 When this product first came out on the market it was THE flea control solution. However, over the last year or so I have had several people tell me it did not work for them.
We were going to a "Pet Friendly" hotel for Thanksgiving Holiday and taking our diabetic cat with us. I treated her with Frontline (I use Revolution on all my indoor/outdoor cats because it protects for heartworm and we have NOT had a problem until now!!!) about a week before we left. She came home with fleas and flea eggs. Not realizing it was Frontline Failure, I treated all my indoor only cats with frontline and treated the furniture and carpet. Three months of treatments later there are even more fleas! Frontline is NOT cheap and to keep spending money on a product while the fleas thrive is beyond frustrating.
I am hearing this same story more and more. I don't know if the fleas are becoming immune to the Frontline OR if the manufacturer has changed the ingredients. In either case, PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
The cats treated with Revolution never brought fleas into the house. I didn't use it for Annie because I thought it would be "over kill" to treat her for a multitude of parasites when all I was worried about were fleas and ticks.
FRONTLINE USED TO WORK, BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE IT DOESN'T ANY MORE.
Please note that many of the positive reviews for this product are from 2005/2006--back when it still worked.
