easy to us July 9, 2008 handyman said it was easy to install; I have found it easy to use. I'm so glad that I bought one that spins.
A Positive and Critical Review of Whitney Umbrella Clothesline July 8, 2008 This is an excellent item, but needs one improvement which is a push button lock between the two poles so they don't come apart unless the button is pressed. You find these on some beach umbrellas.
Compact clothesline June 25, 2008 Shipped promptly, holds 2-3 loads of laundry easily. If you want to have a clothesline in your yard, without hanging one across the whole yard - I recommend this. Electric bill looks much better too!
Easy To Make Disappear June 23, 2008 I wanted a light weight dryer that I could easily remove once the clothes were dried because the best place to put it was right in the middle of my deck. I set it up so that it goes through the umbrella hole of my patio table into the umbrella weight below. It works great and you can use the table to fold the laundry on. No digging, no concrete. Simple, simple, simple. It is so easy to set up and remove. For me, the light weight construction is a plus. Being able to remove and store it also keeps the lines clean. If it were permanently installed, you would probably have to clean the lines every time you used it. I love using this product. I save $$$ on my energy bill, the laundry smells great- especially the sheets, and it is very satisfying to complete a chore the way my grandmother used to do it.
Works well for the price June 20, 2008 Could not find one of these outdoor umbrella dryers locally, so searched Amazon and found one, cost was around 56 bucks with shipping, I believe. I already had the ground pipe from an earlier unit, so did not have to go through the hassle of digging and cementing. The cords are somewhat loose, but can be tied shorter easily. The opening mechanics are simple, but I lubed the pole with a wax-based bicycle chain lube and it slides much easier than without. This is a Chinese product so I do not expect much. I don't leave it out in bad Oregon weather (rain) so I think it will do well. If it lasts four to five summers, then I will be happy. Delivery time from the vendor was good.
