Amazon.com Review Blessed with a carafe that pours without dripping, a water filter, and touchpad electronic controls, this coffeemaker provides safety, convenience, and a host of options for brewing 12 5-ounce cups at once. The carafe is calibrated for both filling the reservoir properly and for judging the amount of brewed coffee and the water filter improves taste by reducing chlorine. The control panel provides a 24-hour clock/timer for brewing "wake-up" coffee and permits the nonstick warming plate's temperature to be set as desired. Other features include a calibrated window on each side for monitoring the water reservoir's level, a hinged cover that flips back to reveal both reservoir and coffee filter, and cord storage. The carafe has a comfortable handle and a guard to protect the knuckles. The coffeemaker measures 7-3/4 inches wide, 12-1/2 inches high, and 10-1/4 inches deep. --Fred Brack

I agree with Consumer Reports...it's great! October 9, 2008 Easy to use and easy to clean. We grind our fresh beans and pour the ground coffee in the filter, press start and next thing you know, you have great coffee. We highly recommend this coffee maker.
Black & Decker DCM2500-PT - A WINNER! October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The past few years we have tried numerous coffeemakers, from Bargain Store brands to very high models.
The last one was a very fancy-looking item from the expensive coffee seller "Geval**". To quote my husband, "the coffee tastes like formaldahide."
Our old stand-by, Consumers Reports, gave this coffee maker excellent reviews - and they are right. Finally, we can dispense with the paper towell or dish cloth under the coffee mugs while we pour. This one does not drip, either when pouring or when filling the unit.
I have noted the negative comments posted on Amazon, but we have not noticed any problems at all. We have only had this for a few days, but at this time we give it a two thumbs up.
Great coffee maker with one small problem October 2, 2008 Great coffee maker. I love the caraffe. Pours without spilling. Easy to use. The only thing I don't like is after about 15 minutes of running it makes a "ticking" noise. That drives me nuts, but other than that, this unit is PERFECT.
Love this coffeemaker October 2, 2008 I would recommend this coffeemaker to anyone as I am very pleased with its function, performance and looks. I love the wide mouth for drip free pouring and the safety shut off after two hours is a great feature as well. I love the wide area for adding the water which makes that chore easy and mess free. This is a great product and I am so pleased to finally have mine. Highly recommended.
Simple, stylish, inexpensive and makes a good cup of coffee October 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had the coffee maker for approximately 2 months without any issues. We bought it because it was recommended by Consumer Reports. The bottom line is that it makes a good cup of coffee. Brewing is relatively quiet especially at the end of the cycle. It takes the "flat bottom" basket style coffee filters, not the "cone" shaped filters. The pot is well designed. I appreciate the fill lines which compensate for water loss (coffee grounds and steam). What I appreciate the most is the no spill pot. Our previous coffee pot (also a Black & Decker) was poorly designed. I am glad to see that they learned from their past mistakes.
