Putting it simply, I like a good beef jerky, and Mr. Z Premium Beef Jerky Teriyaki Flavor, 4-Ounce Bags is a sure winner. It'a also available in a smaller portion: Mr. Z Premium Beef Jerky Teriyaki Flavor, 1-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12). br /br /Have tried many different brands of beef jerky over the years, ranging from home-made variations (see Jerky: Make Your Own Delicious Jerky and Jerky Dishes Using Beef, Venison, Fish, or Fowl) to Harley Davidson Road Food Beef Jerky (once was enough) and Jeff Foxworthy Teriyaki Beef Jerky, 4-Ounce Packages (Pack of 6), "Great Taste with a Southern Accent".... pretty good, but I'm still waiting for it to make me smarter than a 5th-grader.br /br /Mr. Z Teriyaki Beef Jerky stands right up there with the best in terms of flavor and texture, and this reviewer liked it enough to want to try Mr. Z Premium Beef Jerky Original Flavor and Mr. Z Premium Beef Jerky Peppered Flavor, then see which has the best taste.br /br /Positive points: br /1. Tasty grass-fed Brazilian beef br /2. Good texture, not tough to chew br /3. Excellent flavor - one of the best br /4. Sturdy packaging kept it freshybr /br /Negative points: br /1. Packaging - a zip top bag would help keep it fresh br /br /In closing, you do have to chew it as should be expected with any good jerky, but it's not like trying to chew through an old boot, as some jerky can be. The meat has a hint of Teriyaki sweetness and is not too salty, resulting is a very tasty snack.

I am not a big fan of red meat, but I can make an exception for this beef jerky. While not being an expert in jerkys, I would like to proclaim that this was of premium quality in every way. The texture was firm, but not too chewy and I loved the teriyaki flavor boost. I ate the whole bag in one sitting and wish I had another. You will love this jerky. Buy some, eat it and tell me otherwise :)

Well, as jerky goes, this is a good one. It is, also, not necessarily one that stands out of the crowd. I have found most commercial jerky to be rather similar. I was fortunate to have home made jerky in western Oklahoma and there is a considerable difference between that and Mr. Z Premium beef jerky, but, this is not really a criticism. This product was just fine and I have no reason not to recommend it. It does make for an excellent, relatively low calorie, high protein, snack.
Best Jerky I've Ever Eaten September 18, 2008
Not a huge jerky fan here. Maybe its because most jerky I've eaten is so darn hard to chew that it nearly rips your molars out or rearranges your jaw. br /br /But this stuff is different. Its awesome. Its really good and its created from premium meat. Its soft, very tasty, and filling. The seasoning is very good.

Usually beef jerky entices newcomers with its promise of flavor and a filling experience in a handy snack. But then, along come some minor surprises that turn it into a love-it or hate-it product. It's chewiness, consistency and flavor bear little resemblance to the actual meat one is trying to experience "on-the-go". Mr. Z Teriyaki does not fall far from the tree as far as quality beef jerky goes, but that's a good thing. Softer .. much softer than regular jerky, it makes the experience of trying it less painful (yes, painful) than most other jerkies I've tried. As far as flavor, it is moderate and consistent, without those salty spots that many times overwhelm the palate and make a bottle of water a necessary companion to a jerky bag.br /br /The teriyaki flavor is right-on and not too spicy, making this particular jerky a tasteful experience when wanting a protein-full this-side-of-salty snack on the go.
