 Dark, Dark, Chocolate! August 23, 2008
I ordered the dairy-free wheat-free Newman's Alphabet Cookies as a special once-per-week treat for my toddler, but they are so rich I feel guilty giving them to him! They have a delicious very dark chocolate flavor. I love them! So does my 2 year old. He also enjoys naming the letters on each cookie. My only complaint is that one bag arrived opened in the box and quite a few of the little cookies came broken because they weren't packaged well in shipment.

I think these are delicious cookies. I love the pleasantly strong chocolate flavor. I like that the chocolate flavor stands out much more than the sweetness. They remind me a little of the cookie part of a popular chocolate sandwich cookie but these are so much better. For one thing, you can eat 10 cookies (28g) for only 120 calories. I was shocked to see the calories in the other cookie. I like making my own cookies, but there are very convenient to keep on hand.

I'm warning you these are amazing and addictive. I can't get enough. Also I've used them to make an incredible wheat-free chocolate pie crust for banana cream pie. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
