The pad provides good absorbant, nothing passes through. We usually get away with changing just 1 pad per day. Overall great product. Easy to clean up, just throw it away. Will be ordering again. I use this product for my incontinent mother to save her mattress from accidents. I also place one pad on her wheel chair and on her electric lift reclining chair. It is so much easier to throw away a pad than it is to try washing the chairs or mattress. It also extends the useful life of the chairs and mattress. By placing pads on top of the mattress, then putting on the bed sheet and laying another pad on top of the sheet can also eliminate the need to wash the bed linen daily. This saves energy as well. Hope this helps someone. It made a difference for me.
