Excellent harness October 2, 2008

The harness itself is probably the best product of its kind. I have tried many different types, but they all seem flimsy and latch onto the seat belt itself, which still allows the dog to roam around the vehicle without staying put. This version connects directly into the seat belt connector and limits your dogs movement.br /br /I also like the fact that the harness encompasses the entire prosternum, shoulder, sternum area of the dog, and the retaining strap is positioned along the harness in a way that when you come to a sudden stop, the force is absorbed through the entire harness and dogs body evenly, keeping all four feet on the seat even during a very quick stop. Whereas most other brands have only a single retaining point which does little more than tether your dog to the seat belt, but still allow it to flail off its feet during a sudden stop.br /br /Only problem is the sizing seems a bit off, if your dog measures at the lowest or highest end of one size, its best to move up or down a size accordingly. For example Medium is 19-24", if your dog is 19 or 20", go for small. My dog was about 20" at her widest point and I went with medium and it was slightly too big for her, so I had to order a small and it fits her better.br /br /Also the seat belt connector MIGHT not fit with your vehicle's seat belt receptacle, however there is an easy fix with a simple grinding tool. Simply examine your vehicles connector, and overlap the harness connector to see where you need to grind off some excess material. Then use a grinder to bring it close to shape. In my case, the harness connector tip was just a shade too long, so I had to take some off the tip. After this modification it fit like a glove.br /br /Keep in mind the harness is meant to be universal, but there will be some vehicles it will not fit. This modification only takes a minute if you have an electric grinder or Dremel tool, almost everybody has some form of the latter. Its a very tiny price to pay for the very best safety harness you can get for your dog.
