Pretty decent, good for SLIDES, not good for medium fmt or 4x5s July 28, 2008 Does a great job on slides, but be advised, the backlight is a thin strip down the middle of the scanning area, and the preview will only show you this area for selecting the full scan-- and it's not quite wide enough for medium format. If you don't mind cropping your medium format negs a bit it'll do fine, otherwise you'll have to stitch multiple scans together as you can get as tall as you want but it'll only be about 2" wide max. So with some fiddling you may be able to get what you want out of some medium format film, but for 4x5s, look elsewhere as it would be a major pain to try to use this. For <$100 does a pretty great job of what it can do though, I did a 4800 dpi of a slide scan and the results looked pretty phenomenal (and about a 95MB file in BMP format!)...
Easy to install, learn and use. Sleak and compactly designed. May 17, 2008 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
My HP scanner recently failed after years of constant use and I had to find a quick replacement. I purchased the Epson V200 Perfection scanner after doing a little research on the internet. The scanner and it's software was easily installed, I didn't read anything on how to use it...it was pretty self explanatory for me since I've used many different scanners in the past. The software allows you several different methods to scan so you can choose whether to make a quick copy or a very detailed scan. The final scanned images are accurate and detailed. The unit is designed well taking up very little space on your desk even though it has a 8.5" x 12" glass. I'm very happy to have chosen this scanner.
