1 out of 5 stars 8 Gigs of Dissapointment   August 8, 2008

I purchased this device from "STAPLES", simply to store mp3's on. I used it in conjunction with my stereo receiver in my truck which has a USB port. Well, long story short...It worked beautifully for all of about 6 days. It was working fine when I turned off my receiver unit at the end of my drive home from work, and when I woke up the next morning to go back to work...no dice. The "click" housing around the device itself felt very flimsy, although it did seem to hold up surprisingly well to being repeatedly thrown against the wall and door jamb of my office, so kudos for that. My wife bought a 1GB flash drive manufactured by Tech Solutions which is still going strong after 2 years of abuse residing at the bottom of her purse while attached to her car keys. Don't make the same mistake I did. The Micro-Vault in my opinion is a cheaply made, unreliable device which clearly relies on Sony's reputation in the electronics industry to sell it. I strongly advise that you find another product to satisfy your portable data storage needs.
