Product Description Comes with three main components including the Parent's Unit which is the receiver, Child's Unit which is the transmitter and Wireless Crib Unit which is the baby soother. It is one of the only models of baby video monitor around to offer soothing sounds and vibration for baby. This Summer Infant monitor is great for parents with a large household. The Parent Unit controls the Crib Unit remotely from the parent's location. The overall package has a range of 350 feet. The Parent's Unit is small and lightweight and boasts a 1.8 in. color LCD screen. There is a belt clip and flip stand for convenience on the Parent's Unit. The Child's Unit has night vision which is found on many monitors by Summer Infant. The night vision allows parents to see baby in a darkened nursery. The Crib Unit is unique as it calms and relaxes baby. The Crib Unit plays 3 different lullabies, 2 nature sounds and includes a nightlight. The Crib Unit also offers 2 different levels of vibration to keep baby calm. Both the Crib Unit and Child Unit can be mounted to a wall or placed on nursery furniture next to the crib. Requires 4 AA batteries.

Great monitor - unless you have a wireless router July 8, 2008 We purchased this digital monitor to avoid picking up all the other kids in the neighborhood. It works great--unless you want to use a wireless router at the same time. I called the manufacturer and they said they know some people are having an issue with wireless router interference but they didn't have a fix. They suggested we return the product.
Poor Camera Quality, Small Screen and too Bulky and Big July 5, 2008 We have and love the non-digital 900 mhz Summer infant video montior. The problem is that it only had 2 channels with our old monitor so we were able view our child and our neighbor's. When we had baby#2, we wanted the ability to see both our own children so we needed to move to digital or another frequency and tried this one. To our disappointment, this one was way too bulky, the screen for viewing the baby was much too small, our old one was 2.5 and this one is 1.8 or 1.5. Also, the picture quality in this digital one wasn't as good as our old one for some reason. On the up side, we didn't encounter any interference with any other monitors or other wireless devices so that was great. We ended up getting the Safety 1st digital video monitor and it's great. There's no interference, the screen is also small however it has a super zoom in feature so that made up for the small screen.
Great Monitor June 30, 2008 I searched high and low for a good monitor for our newborn. I'm an engineering type who was very discouraged by the poor reviews of previous products and was glad I waited until this was released. Our house has two wireless networks (802.11b and g), a microwave and a slew of other wireless techno-gadgets.
We have experienced nothing but a clear image and clear sound. The build quality is solid. The crib soother is pretty cool, but we really don't use it much.
In night-vision mode, the resolution on the screen is just good enough that I can make out facial expressions and see my baby's pacifier...which is good enough for me.
The only reason I did not give this item five stars is because it apparently needs LOTS of light to work in day (color) mode as I haven't yet seen that happen. It's really not important to me as the product's purpose is extremely well fulfilled.
Much better than audio alone June 29, 2008 Update 7/14: I had to return this item as all of the sudden the monitor would lose connection multiple times during the night and would emit a loud buzzing noise as it tried to reconnect. In addition, you couldn't add a secondary camera to the unit, eventhough the remote had the option for 2 cameras. I wish it would have worked better.
I was on the fence as to whether or not to buy a video unit. I chose this one as it was "secure" and promised no interference from my wireless phones/router.
In terms of audio, the unit is far more sensitive than both the Fisher Price and Uniden monitors I have owned in the past.
Video wise, I am very happy. During the day, the picture is in full color and very clear. Night time uses night vision. I was very surprised by how clear the picture was. We are very happy with this purchase. My only question is that I dont think you can add onto the unit (ie add another receiver). The receiver has a switch for a 2nd camera, but I do not see one for sale.
I have yet to use the Crib Soother, but can see that being very handy when the time comes.
Inferior Product, read this review June 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We started with the "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor" made by Summer Infant. It's a fantastic product, well made and works great. The reason we bought the "Summer Infant 2.4 GHz Color Video Monitor with Crib Soother" was that the "Quiet Sounds" picks up other 900Mhz baby monitor video transmissions, so we could see our neighbors baby when our camera was shut off. And they could see our baby too.
This really bothered us, so we bought the "Summer Infant 2.4 GHz Color Video Monitor with Crib Soother" since it was digitally secure and no one could see what our camera was broadcasting.
However, the "Summer Infant 2.4 GHz Color Video Monitor with Crib Soother" is a totally inferior product in so many ways:
1. The build is totally cheap plastic, all button are cheap plastic and feel like they could break at any minute
2. The video screen is much smaller than "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor", and the actual picture is impossible to make our, very poor quality picture.
3. The night vision is sub-par when compared to the "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor". There are not enough LED's to see sufficiently at night. The "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor" has outstanding night vision.
In only benefit there is over the "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor" is the digital secure transmission, however, in our opinion, the product is unusable.
We wonder why they did not take the "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor" and make that digitally secure, and the only thing we can come up with is that the price point would have been to high.
So we used this product for one night, then packed it up and sent it back to Amazon for a refund, which they processed right away - Thank you Amazon!
You will not be happy with this product. You will be 100% satisfied with their other product, the "Baby's Quiet Sounds(tm) Color Handheld Video Monitor".
