Furinator - does the job September 5, 2008 I have a Shiba Inu who blows his coat twice year. Each day I can have a new dog in fur all over the floor but this device just rakes is all into a smaller pile and makes life less fuzzy. Good product!
The Furminator works great!! September 5, 2008 I have a dog that sheds alot and I tried the furminator and it works great!!...I would recommend this to everyone...It's well worth every dollar!!
Wonderful pet product September 5, 2008 I have a Blue Heeler that lives in the house. He has a major shedding problem but with the FURminator I an attempt to control it. Plus, it keeps his coat so healthy and shiny BEST dog bruch/comb I've ever used
FURminator September 5, 2008 This product worked great! I was amazed at how much fur I got from a Chihuahua-MinPin. It's not a sharp tool, but be sure to be gentle. My dog used to love being brushed, but with the FURminator sometimes seems a little uncomfortable when I brush him.
Highly effective, albeit a bit expensive September 5, 2008 This is the best grooming tool I've ever used.
We got this product to handle our Rottie/Shepherd mix, who somehow manages to leave massive fur tumbleweeds around the house despite (seemingly) not having much fur to lose. We have hardwood floors, and our poor roomba was choking on all the fur - I was contemplating bringing in the leaf blower weekly to just blow it all out of the house.
We tried brushing her, but normal brushes were ridiculously slow. No matter how many strokes we'd use, the brush would continue to fill up, and picking the clumps of fur out of the brush is no fun.
The thing you need to know about the FURminator is that it works. The first 15 minute sitting removed more fur than I would get after an hour with the normal brush. There's just no beating that efficiency.
FURminating weekly, we still have tumbleweeds, but the roomba is able to keep up much better now.
Despite being the best brush I've ever used, the cost still seems high to me, which is why I knocked one star off of the review. It's basically just a fine metal comb on a piece of plastic - is that really $35 worth of materials? Given how few similar options there are, though, I'm glad I shelled out the cash for this thing. Hopefully we'll see more competition in this space and the prices will drop in the future.
