Not a good idea... July 22, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System seemed like a good idea at first but instead of using the litter box to use the bathroom, my cat thought it would be a lot more fun to get as many of those pellets as he could out of the box and eat them. And then throw up. So, overall, I'd suggest that you just stick with your traditional litter box.
Great for small places! July 22, 2008 I bought this for my cat back when it first came out and have been very happy with it. I followed the instructions and put a cup of the pellets in with her regular litter. At first she wants to play with the pellets, but soon she ignored them and did her business. After a week or so, we removed her litter and added the rest of the pellets. The pellets are rather noisy when the cat digs in them, but my cat doesn't dig through them much like she did with her regular litter (this is a good thing!).
We live in a small house and the litter box is squeezed in between the toilet and the wall. This is a high traffic area, especially since it's our only bathroom. With the old litter box, I was having to constantly vacuum because the litter would track through the house so bad. With the Breeze system, I occasionally have to pick up a pellet here and there, but that beats having to lug out the vacuum every day. Urine has no odor whatsoever. Even changing it I can barely smell any urine!
The only bad thing I have to say about this is when the cat poops. There really isn't enough pellets to completely cover it, so there is more odor than with the regular kitty litter. We feed our cat a really good, natural cat food, so her poop doesn't smell too bad, but I can definitely tell when she goes #2. If I can shake all the pellets off, I toss the poop in the toilet. Otherwise, I just toss it in the trash and take it out right away. All-in-all we are happy with the Breeze system and will never go back to regular kitty litter!
Good idea, but... July 22, 2008 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought one of these Breeze litter boxes for my cats about a month ago. The concept looks quite nice, with the 'pee pad' to catch liquid waste.
Here's the problems - The Breeze requires the use of those special pellets, which do not look, feel, or smell like cat litter. At least for my cats, this constitutes a valid reason not to use the thing. Cats identify the litter box by smell, which I understand acts a trigger to let them know to use it. Since the pellets have no smell, my cats haven't been convinced it's a litter box. Also, I haven't seen refills for the pellets or pads at the pet store.
Two stars are for a good idea which is extremely poorly executed.
It took a few days, but well worth it!!! July 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
At first, one of my two cats did not take to the system. She would poop right outside of the box. After a few days however, she became acclaimed to it and we have been very pleased with the Breeze. It is so much better than a conventional litter box and there is no mess and no smell (which amazes me!) Since I have two cats, I change the pads once every five or so days and the pellets once every two weeks. Bottom line...if your cat(s) don't take to the system right away, give it a few days and most likely they will. The Breeze is fantasic and we will never to back to the old litter "ways" ever again!
BEST CAT LITTER BOX EVER! July 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
this is the best litter system I have ever used, no more amonia smell or clay chunks being tracked out of the litter box. Only a few pellets come out of the box but those are easily chucked back in.
I have two cats and I change the pad once every 5 days (MAX) depending on how much they go. But there is no smell or mess!
I LOVE IT!
