Product Description Pyramid-style Doggie Dooley Toilet is like a miniature septic tank for your dog's waste. Simple start-up. Just dig a hole, drop in the Doggie Dooley, add water and the Digester Powder, and your system is ready to go. System breaks down dog waste using the enzyme and bacteria action in the Waste Terminator Digester Powder. You can choose your yard, lawn, or flower garden, just use common sense by keeping away from tree roots and the path of your lawn mower. It is best to place your unit a few feet away from any structures, such as your house or outbuilding, and try to avoid entrances. It is also recommended you should place it within reach of a water source, such as a garden hose. Try to locate the unit in an area of your yard with minimum clay content. The unit requires normal ground drainage to operate effectively. To check for normal drainage add five gallons of water to the 20" x 20" x 23" hole. If it drains well within 24 to 48 hours, the unit should operate properly. Start by adding two to three days works of stools to your unit. Then, mix two tablespoons of the digester powder with five gallons of water. If your water has a high chlorine level, let the water sit in the sun for at least two hours to evaporate the chlorine before adding digester powder. Pour the water and digester mixture over the stools. Add stools daily. Add five gallons of water two times a week. Add one tablespoon of digester powder per week.

Product is so far so good. I think I would have opt. for the other bucket style model, just because this one has no water - and it allway seems like it is empty. I fill it once in the AM and one in the PM and both times they are bone dry. Make sure you are close to a water supply! But purchased this one because I have 2 large dogs. I have had it in place now for about 1 month, and working just fine.
Easy to install, works great. June 14, 2007 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
I have two large dogs (Shepard/Golden Retiever cross), and this unit has ample capacity. Tips: 1.Keep it moist! The enzymes can't work if the waste inside the unit dries out. A good weekly wetting is usually enough. 2.The enzyme mix that comes with the unit is limited in quantity. I find that the same mix is used in some enzymatic drain openers; "Drain Care" by Enforcer Products is one example. Cheaper than buying the mix from the Doggie Dooley folk.
