Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Give your cat a scratching alternative to your draperies and furnishings. Sisal covered post naturally soothes and trims your cats claws as he scratches. Wide base keeps post from tipping. Includes free catnip to help attract your cat.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars A little lightweight   June 24, 2008
Our cats sharpen their claws occasionally on this, but it is a little small and starts to topple. Also, the ball is hooked at the top, and the whole sisal started to unravel when the cats played with it. We had to glue it back in place. Better for smallish cats and good in a small place.

3 out of 5 stars Good for Kittens   December 29, 2007
This is a fine scratching post, but it's sized most appropriately for kittens. Mine loved it from the start. Now that he's full-grown, however, he can't stretch out to full length when he scratches. He compensates by stretching horizontally but it's clear the post has lost a little appeal for him. So if you buy this, understand that you might be replacing it in a year. Also, expect the rope coils on the base to separate as the product ages.

The cats just love to bat that ball around and wrestle with the pole. They've been using it constantly for 9 months, and it's starting to unravel a bit, but then again...we have 11 cats! It's a great toy for the money.
