1 out of 5 stars Horribel Service and Rude people!   May 10, 2008

PAY as you go phone review...br /Virginmobile is trying to get your money! be careful! you get a 1000 minutes card for 50$ thinking that you will have these minutes by entering the pin number but NOOOO! there is another step you need to follow. you have to pick voice minute package which is not among any of the instructions. if you do not pick that plan, you are paying 20 cents a minute. You call them and they do NOTHING about it (except giving you 15 extra minutes -it is like a joke!). br /br /The customer service people are extremely rude and they even hang up on me! they also threaten you by saying that your call is monitored?!?! br /br /Never ever use their services for especially pay as you go phones... I would give them 0 or negative starts if I could...br /br /br /

4 out of 5 stars Virgin Mobile Cell Phone Service   August 14, 2006

I found the Virgin Mobile Phone service to be the best for my needs because I don't use the phone that often. I only carry it in the car for emergencies, so I don't care about the 25 cents a minute costs. The service is very reliable. A very easy way to stay "paid-up" for the service.

5 out of 5 stars Very happy customer!   August 12, 2006

I have been a Virgin Mobile prepaid phone user since 2002.br /I started with a Kyocera 2119b and about a year ago updated to the Kyocera Flasher V7 camera flip phone.br /br /I am extremely happy with their service and especially, the price scheme. I am a low volume user and V. Mobile is still the least expensive prepaid plan I have found. If you use top up cards, you have to pay $20 per 90 days which is basically $80 per year.br /However, if you register a credit card for top up, it will automatically be charged $15 every 90 days (or when your balance drops to $5, whichever comes first) Which means it is only $60 per year!br /br /Oh yeah, you can send/receive short text emails for only 5 cents (256 characters). Each phone has a normal email address so you can get email from anyone! If your phone has a camera or video you can also send picture messages (higher cost per msg)br /br /Recently, they have an alternate price plan which is a flat rate of 18 cents per minute no matter how many minutes you use.br /The previous standard plan was 25 cents for the first 10 min and then 10 cents per minute after that.br /I've switched to the 18 cents/minute plan which is cheaper than the other plan as long as you talk for less than 19 minutes per call.br /br /I can't imagine why any low rate user would waste $30 per month for the contract type of cell phone - V. Mobile prepaid is the way to go.br /br /

5 out of 5 stars Best low cost cell plan for low useage people   June 15, 2006

I am not a cell phone heavy users. All I need is a low cost cell phone plan. I have been using pre-paid cell phone plans for many years. I have used Motorolla's prepaid plan (8 years ago), Tracfone (for duration of 2 years), T-mobile pre-paid plan (for short period) and now Virgin Mobile (about 1 year). Based on my useage level (about 20 minutes per month), I found that Virgin Mobile offers the best price. The biggest problem for T-mobile is its coverage. Virgin Mobile has better coverage than T-mobile. Tracfone is more expensive than Virgin Mobile and Tracfone does not offer the small tiny cell phone like what I got from Virgin Mobile. Also, Virgin Mobile's web site is far more powerful and convenient for users. I can even track all my communication logs from the web site. Overall, I am very happy with Virgin Mobile's pre-paid cell phone plan and I have recommended this plan to my friends also. If your cell phone useage is low, this is a very good plan.

5 out of 5 stars A great deal for non-frequent phone users.   June 14, 2006

I bought the kyocera K9 Virgin Mobile pre-paid phone for $[...] and had a $10 store rebate on it December 2004. It also came with a $10 pre-paid card to start off with it's usage. So, basically it cost me $10 for the phone. It is easy to get it activated and you can "top-up" with pre-card you pay. br /br /I used to pay $40 a month for my own phone service which I did not use that much so VM phone is a great way to go. My brother also got the same phone for emergency uses and he likes it too. $20 for every 90-days to keep it activated and you can find out how much is left on your account by clicking "check balance". br /br /I still have this phone and it's June 2006 and it's working great. It saved me so much money. 25 cents for first 10 min and 10 cents after that each day. It's better than phone booths ~35 cents per minute (in my opinion). Sometimes certain stores have the top-up cards for a deal like two $20 cards for $30 (save $10) and these cards expires like 1-2 yrs later. br /br /Virgin Mobile is a great way for non-frequent phone users like myself. (It is NOT a great deal if you are a frequent phone user). Parents will love this deal for their kids in cases of emergency. I'm thinking of getting one for my 5th grader.
