I have a very picky boy and he absolutely LOVES this toy. He seems to like all fat cat toys, but he favors this one. I actually bought a few just in case it's ever discontinued.

I got this for our cat based on the good reviews. My cat must not have gotten the memo. br /br /A little about our cat. She's a little less than 2 years old and still very playful. She loves chasing things and chewing on anything feathery and fluffy. br /br /This toy was neither of those things. She's never once played with it, despite smothering it in catnip, dangling it in front of her, or just leaving it out to get used to. It was, in short, a waste of money. Too bad, 'cause I really thought she'd like it. br /br /I give it 2 stars (instead of 1) only because it's built well, and if for some reason your cat likes it, it'll probably last a good while. br /

I personally think this is a great toy. It's well made and should last awhile. Unfortunately not one of my nine cats is enthralled with it. Fuzzy mice are more to their taste. So, lacking fuzz, it languishes.

My cat has such finnicky manners when it comes to her toys and food. She is mesmerized by the tail because the design of it is so narrow that it is harder catch it, thus reducing her chances of being able to effictively claw it. That is the reason why she will play with it for about 2 minutes. She gets tired of it rather quickly but luckily with her short attention span, she will have forgotten it in about a few minutes and will go back to it so long as I play with her. br /br /I am not crazy for colors available but that is the least of my concern when we find a toy the cat likes. The fabric seems durable for prolonged usage. When this gets dirty, I wouldn't hesitate to throw it in the washer in a lingerie bag, just to be on the safe side. Or I could just handwash the tail and spot clean the face so as not to ruin the catnip-filled face.br /br /I can definitely smell the catnip but I don't know if it has any effect on my kitty. She says she likes the tail better. This is a rather ingenious toy for such a simple design at a great price, too.br /br /If my picky kitty will play with it, I am positive yours will, too. I will buy it again if we need to.

Both cats enjoyed the Kitty Hoots for Valentine's Day. It was a joy to watch them play.
