After a recommendation from a neighbor who saw this box at PetCo, I did some research. Many people complained about leakage when kitties would pee on the "edge" where the top attaches.br /br /How much litter are you people putting in? I only keep two inches of Scoop Away in this box, and have plenty of room before the edging. I've had this box for a week now, and it has saved my apartment. I unfortunately have to keep the boxes in my living room. This box has cut down on the smell and is much more attractive to look at than an open pan. With two kitties, this has been great. The cats adapted to it quickly. (For reference, I have a 6 pound torbie and a 10 pound half Maine Coone. The MC likes LOTS of head room and this does the trick.)br /br /The clean step does stop tracking entirely, but that too is less. I vacuum the little steps about every two days (which is usually how often I have to sweep the whole living room, so no big deal).br /br /I don't use the liners because I think liners are stupid. But seriously, my torbie could make your eyes water with her poo and it would stink the entire apartment. This is helped dramatically. (The only time you smell it is if you're right next to the box when she gets out--her poo used to wake me up in the morning from all the way across the apartment!).br /br /br /Please check the measurements as it is bigger than your conventional kitty pan.br /

We bought this a couple of months ago, and can see no significant advantage over a regular litter box. When the cat does #2, the whole house still fills with the putrid stench of cat poop every bit as much as with regular litter box. There is a carbon filter for the top vent, but that doesnt help with the stench escaping from the front door. The only slight advantage is that when the cat covers his poop, he doesnt sling litter out onto the floor (unless the door happens to be right behind him).
Big, but nice December 12, 2008
First of all, this thing is BIG! If I were looking for something to put in a bathroom, this would not be my first choice. Lucky for me, I've got a whole room under my stairs for kitty to run around. The done keeps most of the litter inside, though I have set it in a shallow box to aid in the process.br /br /The litter liners are a joke, however, as my cat shreds them, making them completely useless. This doesn't matter to me as the sides of the dome are very slick and easy to clean.br /br /Overall, a good product if you've got the room for it.

I read the reviews and thought now this is what I need. I clicked to buy it and Amazon never took me to the page where shows the shipping costs before you confirm. I got the confirmation and shipping was $45!!!!!!!!!!!br /br /Thats more than the cost of the cat box, I'm sure not going to pay close to $90 for a plastic litter box!!!!!!!!!br /br /Time to go to the Pet Store
Keeps my dogs out of the litter box December 1, 2008
I love this box because my cat can use it easily and my dog can't get into it. I tried the box where the cat enters from the top but my dog would just stick his head in the hole, get it stuck and then pull his head up and the lid would stay around his neck. This is the only box I have found that keeps the dog out!!!!
