Product Description A truly unique way to display betta fish. The Aquabetta aquarium lamp suspends your betta in a one-liter, scratch resistant sphere, providing 360 degree viewing. Feeding holes are located on the top for easy access. This beautiful lamp features a crisp, white LED lunar light that is perfect for on a desk or as a child's night light. Makes a wonderful gift.

not the right bowl for bob August 25, 2008 so I was very excited about this purchase I wanted a tank that did not look cheap like all of the others, it is for my professional office. the "light" on this lamp is the size of a pin head and not changeable so when the light goes you are done. the fish bowl is acrylic and mine came with some sizable scratches in the surface so there are only a few points where I can see through. because the light is very small it only lights up a small part of the bowl and I can only see the fish when he swims through that part. Oh well I tried.
Why do this to a creature? June 6, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bettas CAN survive in tiny amounts of water; but that's simply an adaptation to help them survive temporary drought conditions in nature. They normally don't choose or prefer to do so. Why in the world would anyone buy a beautiful fish and put it in a prison, basically? br /br /I've kept bettas and assure everyone reading this that, if you put one in a minimum 20-gallon tank, it will reward you with lovely playful and active swimming displays, including changing color flashing to greet you and express it's moods. Bettas have tons of personality that you can't enjoy when they are cramped into a tiny bubble-like container. You are really missing out on what this pet has to offer if you don't treat it decently. br /br /They are not fast swimmers but they will thoroughly use and enjoy a normal-sized tank. Because they are aggressive, do NOT mix them with anything besides catfish with protective barbs like corycats. The bettas will either do sneak attacks, taking chunks out of other fish; or, if the other fish are faster, those will nip and destroy the betta fins. Don't believe reports that they will live well with other fish. They might for a week or two; but sooner or later you'll have a problem.br /br /If you don't like the idea of keeping one fish in a 20-gallon tank, consider that the idea is to make an "underwater garden" to enjoy, like you would a pond or a vase of flowers etc. With plants and decor etc., it is very relaxing and beautiful. Bettas really are unique and interesting fish and you will be happy with the results if you set up the aquarium compassionately!
A Fish Tank to Pray For May 20, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This modern fish tank is a pretty clear indication of how design is becoming precise. It is sleek, refined and especially sexy for Japanese tourists. I don't like it myself because of the specks inside the glass of the tank which radiate light from small ingrained bulbs. Use mild, non-streak cleaner to wash windows free of soot, even comes with "egg fish starter kit" and a stuffed lobster toy named "Samji".
Sea monkeys, not bettas March 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I breed brine shrimp(sea monkeys) for my other fish to eat. They've always been kept in a 1 gallon tank, which was kind of unnattractive when kept near my other pretty fishies. br /br /This bowl is adorable for a few of the sea monkeys to frolic in and I don't really have to worry about there not being enough space. br /br /This being said, don't put any kind of fish in this bowl. There's just not room for it. Any fish, even a betta, would have a severely shortened life span from living in such cramped conditions.
great aquarium December 3, 2007 Very nice aquarium and looks great on my desk. Like other reviewers, it is not a good desk lamp.
