Product Description A distinctive bedding that helps your pets look their best. Take the drab out of your pet's cage with Carefresh Ultra Pet Bedding. Its bright white color creates a dazzling, fun-filled space that both you and your pet will love. And because it has all of the odor-controlling benefits of the original Carefresh Pet Bedding, you can count on your pet having the cleanest, safest, most attractive home around. Superior odor control stops ammonia formation up to two times longer than traditional bedding. Powerful absorbency allows bedding to absorb up to three times its weight in liquid without falling apart, packing, or becoming mushy. Safe for you and your pet. Carefresh Ultra has been sanitized to 380 degrees (F) to kill bacteria, mold, and fungus. Carefresh is also free of the aromatic hydrocarbons found in pine and cedar shavings. Biodegradable and easy to dispose of. Carefresh Ultra is made from wood pulp and can be safely composted, incinerated, landfilled, or flushed. DirectionsApply one to three inches of Carefresh Ultra to the bottom of your pet's cage or habitat. Empty on a weekly basis or as needed. Impaction and related problems are an inherent risk with substrate. Seek veterinary care if your pet consumes large quantities of bedding.

Softer than regular Carefresh January 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the bedding to get if you really want to pamper your furry friend. Carefresh Ultra is noticeably softer than its regular gray counterpart: the Ultra feels more cottony. Its stark white color makes it easier to spot-clean the cage, but it also looks dirtier faster. I did notice that the Ultra is slightly better at odor control. However, it still has about as much "dust" as standard Carefresh. I can't really justify spending the extra bucks on the Ultra because my guinea pigs don't seem to notice the difference. So, I'm sticking with the standard Carefresh for now. When my piggies get older (like "old age"), I might buy this stuff just for its softness.
I don't like this litter! August 12, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Has a tendency to spread mites, or introduce them. One of my rats who I used only this in now appears to have mites and the only thing I did differently was use Carefresh. It also made him sneeze a bit and seemed a bit dusty. Not fluffy and not my favorite. I much prefer aspen litter to this. This seller offers it at a great price, but overall I do not like the product at all and will not be buying it again!
Hammy Doesn't Shred It or Nest In It September 17, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Based on the product description and the customer reviews, I ordered a large package of this litter under another name, Carefresh Ultra White Pet Bedding 50 liters; and also a small package of the litter on this page, Online Only Carefresh Litter Ultra, to see if they are the same; they are. It works fine as a cage-floor litter, absorbing nicely, and there are no sharp edges for their tender feet. I have used it for 2 guinea pigs and 1 hamster (Sesame, Hershey, and Marshmallow). br /br /But Marshmallow (the hamster) doesn't use it for her nest-building, doesn't shred it or move it or anything. If this happens to your nest-building small pet, provide something else for that purpose, as it's important for them to build a mounded nest that they crawl under to deposit the contents of their cheek pouches and to sleep contentedly. br /br /A hint- the bedding material that Marshmallow likes best of all is torn strips of newspaper (I cut the pages at the fold, then twice across parallel to the fold, then tear it in narrow strips- I don't really know what the optimum size is, but a size about 2x3" doesn't interest her at all). By-the-by, her favorite chew toy is an old pillowcase or t shirt that I use over her cage in the daytime when she mostly sleeps. She drags it in and chews it up and pulls a big section over the top of her nest! Keeps her busy and happy.br /br /
No dust or odor!! June 28, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had my doubts about this litter. All my small animals have always been on aspen shavings..until now. I switched to Carefresh Ultra and my pets love it. My mouse, Mr. Squeakums, has an allergy to aspen, but he's fine on the Carefresh. The litter is very soft, dust free and has no odor. It also controls urine odor and masks any musk smells that the animal may produce. I highly recommend this bedding for small pets such as rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters.Another good point about this bedding is it's shred-ability. My pets shred it and make a soft bed out of it. Carefresh Ultra really is a better litter.
