Product Description Kong's exclusive black natural rubber formula is the world's strongest dog toy rubber! It's now being used by powerful chewers around the world like police K-9 teams, drug enforcement and military K-9 teams, AKC competition trainers, Shutzhund Clubs and more. It is puncture resistant, super bouncy, and chewer friendly. It is unmatched for resilience, durability, and bounce. Kong satisfies a dog's natural need to chew and also cleans teeth and conditions gums. The thick, flexible walls keep springing back for more! Kong rubber is non-toxic, nonabrasive, non-splintering, and does not get sharp when chewed. Kong toys are enthusiastically used and recommended by veterinarians, trainers, dog professionals and satisfied customers world wide. Made in the USA. For Maximum Safety: 1. Supervise use. 2. Inspect toy frequently. 3. Remove damaged toy. Important Safety Information: No dog toy is indestructible! All dogs have powerful jaw muscles and sharp teeth. Most dogs chew 40 to 60 times per minute with a force of 1,200 to 1,500 pounds per square inch. Kongs are safe, beneficial toys designed by people who know and love dogs, but ultimately, your dog's safety is your responsibility. Every dog is a unique individual and no one can predict how long a Kong will last with your dog. Note: If your dog destroys a Kong in a short period of time, it is probably too small. Regular use of a Kong by your dog will increase jaw strength, so you may eventually need to provide larger red or black Kong
Amazon.com Review Used by police, drug enforcement teams, and the military for training working dogs, this super-tough toy stands up to jaws of steel. Even if your dog's job rarely takes him off the couch, the Kong Extreme's goofy, unpredictable bounce makes for hours of chasing and fetching fun--just the thing for animals whose life in the wild consists of tracking, killing, chewing, and then doing the same thing all over again. When you're away, simply stuff the hollow interior with treats or gooey peanut butter, and extracting the contents becomes a "hunt" to keep any pooch happy and busy all workday long. Chewing Kongs helps promote strong jaws, clean teeth, and general oral health. Even aggressive "power chewers" will find it hard to bite through carbon-formula Ultra Flex, and dogs with separation anxiety or problem behaviors like barking and digging will especially benefit from the mental and physical stimulation. p Kongs are made in the USA from a thick, flexible rubber that's non-toxic, non-splintering, and puncture-resistant. This black Kong Extreme is appropriate for the very largest dogs, including Newfoundlands, mastiffs, and Saint Bernards. Supervised play is highly recommended for aggressive chewers, especially when first giving a Kong toy to your dog. Regularly inspect the Kong for cracks or missing chunks, and replace worn or damaged toys to avoid a choking hazard. Satisfaction is guaranteed; if either you or your dog aren't happy with your purchase, return within 30 days for a full refund. I--Mary Park/I

Review of XL Kong November 11, 2008 An appropriately sized Kong is a must have for any dog owner. Our dog differentiates her Kong by name and carries it from her crate to the kitchen for reloading in the morning. The Extreme XL is perfect for our smaller lab (65lbs) and it holds about a half cup of food. When she was about 1 she was able to chew the edge of the opening off, we replaced that one 3 months ago and the new one is fine so far.br /br /Good luckbr /
Ok I guess... October 14, 2008 I'm giving this 2 stars only because I haven't seem my dog really interested in this product. I bought this so he can have something to chew. lol So far no luck!
Extreme Kong shredded by a 10 lb mini-schnauzer September 30, 2008 These probably are the toughest toys around. Still our little Mini-Schnauzer bites off chunks. We need to watch when we give him peanut butter or bisquits inside and as soon as he has gotten the reward, rescue the Kong. Even this largest size Extreme Kong gets nibbled away.
Cost me $3500 August 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This "puncture resistant" toy was torn up by my 10-pound chihuahua mix while I was at work and ended up blocking his intestines. He required immediate attention and surgery to the tune of $3500 altogether. Nothing but cloth toys from now on.br /br /
great for a LAB! August 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My lab loves this product and he is a strong chewer. We have been using it for over 2 years and so far so good.
