The litter box works well, is durable and is easy to clean. My 2 cats started using it immediately with no problems and even ran to it to watch it rake up the poop. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the description said for a 2 cat household you can clean it out in every 2 weeks, when it really needs to be cleaned every week. Also the crystals get everywhere like with every other litter box.

The Hood attachment is a must! It keeps all the litter inside, even when your cat's not so neat. The only objection I have is to the only color of bright purple. It doesn't match any decor in my house.

Great Addition to Scoop Free, but a Little Low May 1, 2008
This is a great accessory to the Scoop Free Self-Cleaning litter box. It has pegs that fit right into holes on the litter box, and it is very secure. The plastic is sturdy, and my cats haven't knocked it off at all.
It really helps in keeping the litter in the box. Sure, your kitty is going to bring a little out with him, but not nearly as much as he could scatter when he's digging around.
My only problem is that the hood seems a little low for larger cats. I have a great big, 20 lb male who is very tall. He has to stoop down very low to get comfortable in there to do his business, and sometimes he ends up "depositing" behind the rake. Not a big deal, cause he's a pretty easy going cat, but I think they could make this hood taller.
Other than that, love it.
